Is there a STW mini-league for this "Grand Tour"?

Want to try and better my 5th from bottom scored in the Tour and be propping the rest of you up. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Team hoppy are in, kit change in honour of the TdF results.

Is it me or did that seem a lot harder to get a solid team though.

I'm in again, more to prove my top ten finish in the TdF was blind luck than anything else.

The Bolivian Busdrivers are in.
Aiming to better my top 5 finish in the TdF with the Bermudan Barristas.
I could have afforded Contador but didn't pick him out of spite.

I ended up picking bertie, mostly because nobody else looked interesting. I'm not a massive roadie fan but this looks thin pickings to me - is it ??

dropped one or two that failed me miserably in the TdF, too

I'll give it a whirl.

Seems like it's possible to buy all the favourites. It's not often I complain about being given too much money.

I could have afforded Contador but didn't pick him out of spite

agreed

I'm in, but this one is really showing my lack of knowledge of road cycling, after the top few names it was just a case of picking at random, I don't know who most of them are.

Judging form for the Vuelta is always really tricky.
You've got a right mixture of racing under the rider's belts.

Choosing from the sprinter list in particular is almost painful.

I bet hardly anyone has chosen Cobo, but who knows how he's 'prepared' compared to last year.

Do ITV show the Vuelta or just Eurosport?

Edit - Just found this link, ITV will be showing highlights...

Bertie's Spanish Butchers are in (far from the first team name to 'welcome back' Contandor I see!)

Have bet fairly heavily on a Bertie vs Froome shoot-out in the mountains.

I think it's like "Pick'n Mix" - don't follow Road Racing,so just staying under budget with names I recognise. ๐Ÿ˜•

hmmm, should I reconsider having the Spaniard in my team....
if I include him as the wildcard then he's not really part of the team, just an outsider who I'm betting on, right?

I took him out of my team as a challenge - I'd only heard of about ten of the others and tried to se if I could make 'em into a team under 100 quid

I'm in! Never done a fantasy team before, but watch a huge amount of cycling ๐Ÿ˜• As AlexSimon says, picking a sprinter is painful!! I went with Bertie-whatever you think of him (I'm a hater!) he wins most GT's that he enters!

Well, I never got out of the bottom third in the tour, so it's nice to see a top-5 placing.
Wont last though ๐Ÿ™‚

Looking at the league, am I right in thinking that not a single team picked Degenkolb?
I so very nearly picked him, but just at the last minute swapped to a spaniard.

Now 11th. snif.

I had him...tough between hm and Swift I guess, but he has a slightly better kick and a slightly better palmares imo.

they haven't updated from yesterday's stage yet - if you have valverde, you could jump up ๐Ÿ™‚
(I imagine there's a lot with contador, froome and j-rod)

Bah they still haven't updated....I'm guessing that I've jumped up...I've got Bertie, J-Rod, Roche, Talansky and I've had a rider in the break and second place yesterday and today!! Update damn you!!

Modesty forbids, ahem, but top spot is making up for my poor TdF. Valverde, Froome and Contador earned me a few more points yesterday, but didn't seem to gel on the road. Will have to have words with them.
