There was a photo on here a few days ago of a guy crashing a downhill bike but looking up at the camera giving it two thumbs up as he went down.
Anyone got a link as I can't find it?
Thats got to be staged.
I'm trying to see how he's hooked up or balanced. I can't really see. It's good if it's a set-up and obviously even better if it's real.
and just about to write off the go-pro as well as hurt looking at the tree on the rhs...
if i was staging that i'd have gloves on!
No gloves? Must be staged
Looking at it, I think he's genuinely crashed and momentarily hooked up the rear wheel on the tree which has slowed/stopped him for long enough mid fall to give the 'thumbs up'.
No gloves? Must be staged
Not everyone wears gloves on a bike.
Nobody would be smiling and thumbs up mid crash.
Rear wheel looks like it could be hooked around the tree too.
No dust in the air from wheel skid/slide.
Changed my mind...
Saddle is out of line
Suspension compressed.
I reckon it's a slow static genuine over the bars thing. You know where you try to stop, kinda stop, but go over anyway.
It's obviously staged (and a pretty poor effort too!), rear hooked up on the tree with his left foot in assistance. Also the the front brake (Which is conveniently covered up as it's not a uk spec bike) is probably cable tied to stop the front rolling out.
Pah, gotta do better.
I reckon its a slow tumble crash type thing which has left him balanced in that position.
I called fake last time and still do, there's not enough movement in the picture.
He'd be arms extending, hand out and "spotting" for a landing, surely ?
Even at really low speed.
Fake. Imagine the speed involved to get the rear wheel in the air like that. No way could he pull that pose, it would be happening far too quickly. We are all programmed to protect our faces in an event like that, no matter how crazy you are.
well as it's a guessing game ๐
Staged photo.
I would have tied the bike to the tree, wound off the fork compression/softer springs for the sag effect, the rear tyre appears to be hooked up as well, i can only see one brake lever so assume one wheel is locked off as well.
Lots of detail, but not enough, no front tyre compression, no dust or flying stones/gravel/dirt, rider appears well balanced.
Perhaps a viral marketing ploy from the camera company, in which case they have done rather well as this photo has cropped up all over the place ๐
Staged.
I've got one just like that from 1988 (no full face then, in fact no helmet at all).
