p/s: it's only small amount for fun so we are not running a casino here ... Anyone?

Seeing as I can get better odds online then no.

What's the odd? I have never bet in UK before.
I shall go to the betting shop tomorrow to check out the odds. Time to put some cash in ...

Firstly, it is not a large sum so winning or losing will not amount much other than bruise pride.

Secondly, what can you do with the winning? The amount will only be enough for a few nights out at curry house.

I will honor all bets.

Woohoo! I am going to the bet shop tomorrow.

I assume that reads as ...

2/1 for every £1 you bet, you will win £2.
3/1 for every £1 you bet, you will win £3.

I assume the bookies think President-Elect Trump will not last the term ... Good.

before you do...

US intelligence chiefs showed President-elect Donald Trump evidence of Russian efforts to compromise him, according to CNN.

The documents, shown to the incoming US president, included allegations that Russian operatives claim to "have compromising personal and financial information" about Trump, CNN reported, citing multiple US officials with "direct knowledge of the briefings"

http://www.smh.com.au/world/donald-trump-shown-claims-of-russian-efforts-to-compromise-him-cnn-20170110-gtp8qy.html

and from the direct CNN Story

These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats. This synopsis was not an official part of the report from the intelligence community case about Russian hacks, but some officials said it augmented the evidence that Moscow intended to harm Clinton's candidacy and help Trump's, several officials with knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.

Now if I was cynical, if you wanted control you would hold onto it, if you wanted to cause the most trouble and destablize the USA you would drop it on Thursday. I guess it will depend on when Trump stops liking Putin or when they feel the relationship has been burned too much.

Obviously with all the fake news in the....erm....news, this should currently be viewed with Roger Moore level eyebrows, but it's interesting how plausible it is.

If nothing else, the tag #watersportsgate trending on Twitter is pretty inspired.

my favourites so far

What's the difference between a lentil and a chickpea?
Trump wouldn't pay $1000 to have a lentil on his face.

Does this mean Slash will play the inauguration?

Trump should step down at the earliest public convenience.

I believe betting odds are based on a balance of probability and risk. So if too much money goes on the probable outcome they'll shift the odds to encourage bets the other way.

Well as this is probably just an elaborate and incredibly well researched spoof there should be nothing more than a quick denial needed. But just in case I think it's only fair that he release all of his travel plans and receipts from the trips in question along with bank accounts and witness statements as to his whereabouts and that of the people mentioned along with any documentary evidence of what the meetings were about and explanations of any gaps. As for the tapes if somebody could just hack the FSB and get them it would be great. Otherwise everytime he does something that is even slightly sympathetic to Russia he will be open to suspicion of collusion of being blackmailed. It's a tough call but I think we can all agree full disclosure is the only option.

I always liked John McCain.

Conducted himself with dignity when he lost to Obama in 2008.

Hopefully he'll spend the rest of his term blocking Trump

At least we know why the Russians chose wikileaks as the site dump all their hacked info !

A further irony is that this alleged info was obtained for the Republicans when they were trying to discredit Trump.
It also includes financial wrongdoing, does that mean the Russians have trump's tax returns and the American public don't ? 😯

Even if trump were impeached or whatever, they also hacked the reps and are allegedly sitting on that data too, so they could still be pulling the strings if trump were gone- tho Pence wouldn't be as easily manipulated.

As for chewks predictions- he assured us trump would get rid of all the goldman-sachs execs in the government, instead there's more than ever!

This is worse than Cameron's porcine predicament for punning.

My favourites so far:

Remember folks, these are only allegations.

There could be a vas deferens between this and the truth.

and

Didn't realise Trump was so heavily into trickle-down economics.

My tinfoil hat take on it all

Trump owes bazillions to some very nasty Russians/Putin
He can't pay
They threaten to kill him and his whole family
They "suggest" that he runs for president and that they'll have complete control over him (or they'll kill him/them all)
He reluctantly agrees, but on the condition that if he doesn't win the vote in the end that all debts are null and void
Putin agrees
Trump starts campaigning, as he wants the easy route out he tells all his lies, let's all the hatred etc come out thinking that no one will ever consider voting for him
Putin wise to this so releases the Hilary emails etc
Trump wins, and as you can tell by his face/body language he never expected it and is sh*****g himself, he now has to run the country whilst answering to Putin, or else.
Already things aren't going how Putin likes it so as a show of force releases *some* of the info he has on Trump as a warning.

*Puts tinfoil hat back on

If I'm never heard from again, check my teapot and avenge my death!

Allegedly Comey had this info on Trump being blackmailed by the Russians the same time he got the info on the Hilary hack, but he didn't write to Congress or the public about that, obvs !

It seems some STWers like a conspiracy theory as much as the Americans

All total bollox ....

Jamie I'll stand by those predictions, he's going to do a decent enough job and get re-elected in 2020. He's going to light a fire under NATO countries that don't meet the 2% spending target (Germany has already said it's going from 1.2 to 2) and he will use the dominant seat at the IMF to ensure it (and the US) gets a very very good deal out of any eurozone bailout/restructuring. His focus will be primarily domestic, he will build a wall and he will bring jobs back to the US via tariffs / NAFTA renegotiation.

true or not its amusing that the hero of breitbart is getting upset at fake news and conspiracy theories

the details of his advisors trips to Russia and alleged meetings with putins agents at least expose his potential conflicts of interests, even if golden showers and blackmail were never discussed

it also highlights the hypocrisy of Comey at the FBI

kimbers people in the oil/gas business visit Russia a lot. BP had a JV there. There are numerous contracts between Russia and the EU for gas supply.

it also highlights the hypocrisy of Comey at the FBI

Ot really doesn't. Clinton carried our classified government business on an insecure personal email server. Then deleted 10's thousands of emails so the FBI couod not check them.

The anti-Trump circle jerk reminds me a lot of the Remainers ... he won and people better get used to it.

Sidebar: Why do any of you lot engage with Jamba on politics threads? Surely by now you realise you'd be better off herding cats? I am straight down the middle on this one, and I can see Comey has opened himself up to being called a hypocrite, given his statements before and after the election.

Let's not forget that Trump is a huge conspiracy theorist himself eh?

All total bollox ....

Well if you want my tinfoil-hat spin it's that some easily discreditable stuff has been released for everyone to have a laugh about, with the aim of watering down and damning by association the inconvenient and far more credible allegations regarding the Russian hacking.

SOP for The Man as far as conspiracy theorists are concerned: dilute the credible with the incredible.

I'm not engaging with him on politics,I'm engaging with him on the basis that he he's an evasive apparently unpleasant person, with as much regard for the truth and evidence as he has for people who earn less than him.
