Saw Mike's news update last night:

PA 29er news

After a quick search I can't find any discussion about it on here. As a Mk1 PA owner I am quite excited. Anyone know any more details? Geo, Frame weights?

@julioflo - excited that your existing components (wheels, tyres, forks ..) won't fit ?

@jambalaya - Won't they fit. Damn that's a shame. 😉

I suppose it will be for long travel forks. Was hoping it would be a UK designed option to a Solaris that was lighter than an Inbred and would not build up too heavy

Some info on Facebook.

71 degree head angle, 74 degree seat angle, 455mm chainstay length, 470mm rigid fork (or sagged sus fork).

Just coming in 2 sizes to start off with: 17" and 19"

455mm was a typo (by me not Kaiser). Chain stays are actually 445mm.

It will take a 30.9mm seat post.

Don't know what you mean, Pie Man 😉

The chain stays are 445mm (got there in the end!).

100mm HT on the 17" frame and 110mm on the 19".

TT = 23.75 and 24.5" respectively.

Weight is probably 5.5lbs-5.75lbs.

Shame there isnt a 21". 19" frame is bit small for the taller 29er rider...

Oh my, that looks lovely, speshly in the raw with the weld discolouration.

And that headtube badge ... 🙂

There is a good deal of choice now in the steel hardtail 29er category. And they all have individuality, which is nice even if choice becomes more difficult!

@julioflo - I don't mean to be grumpy but I've got my 26 HT and FS and like the fact I can switch components. I have a PA Classic in a box right behind me waiting to be built up, as interesting as a 29 might be to try the component recycling element is important as I couldn't justify brand new everything.

@jambalaya - Don't worry, do not stress! I wouldn't want to have 26er and 29er bikes for that same reason. But I try to be a one bike (offroad) type chap. However my 26er wheels are pretty tired and going to need replacing soon, so it seems like a good time to make the swap over. I've ridden quite a few 29ers over the past year or so and for what I ride I can see benefits. It's just the forks that are the real bugger to have to purchase again.

Interesting - I do enjoy riding my (3rd hand) Love/Hate so could go deeper into Dialled for sure.

100-120mm travel forks will be fine and dandy.

Looks great but can I ask why the seat stays don't meet the top tube? I know it's a bit of a Dialled thing but it just looks so wrong. I assume it's so the welds don't overlap but the engineer in me just screams "nooooooo - do proper triangles!" Sorry
