My road bike is having issues.

It was working fine but it has been over a month since I used it last as I’ve been away. I’ve just come to set it up for the weekend and it is not responding at all.

No shift and no lights. So I thought I’d plug it in as it must have gone flat. However, even when I do that the charger is not showing any lights either.

Google suggests it may be a connection or wire issue. It is an internal battery so before I start to remove the cranks and seat tube is there anything else obvious I might be missing?

Is it possible that you’ve knocked the mech?
It can become disabled to protect itself and you have to reset it

Seems to be a dodgy battery connection. Methodically disconnected and reconnected everything and when I did the seatpost battery it came back to life.

Did learn about the crash mode though which may be useful in the future.

After years of cables and understanding how things work and how to fix them – wires is a bit of a new learning process.
