Had a cholesterol test last month. Apparently the results are ‘fine’; that is the message relayed from my GP via the receptionist.

That is itself fine, but it would be good to get any insight the hive might have (and I am sure there is plenty!) Results are as follows:

    HDL 1.75
    LDL 3.3
    Ratio 3.09
    Triglyceride 0.8
    Serum 5.4

It looks too low to me. Eat more lard.

    As they said. It’s fine.

There’s not to much to it.

The values are within the “normal range” for each parameter. However, you can’t look at cholesterol in isolation when it comes to your risk of heart disease and stroke.

You can enter your results here (QRisk Calculator) and calculate your 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

I can give you one tip, don’t eat two boiled eggs before having one 🙂

No one told me I should be fasted, and got an immediate call back and lectures about my diet & lifestyle (veggie, don’t drink really, don’t smoke, ride, run and swim at least 3 or 4 times a week) .. re test was of course perfectly fine.

as legolam says look at the whole blood test result or let your dr interpret them. Also, get yourself checked regularly so you can spot a trend or any stray results.

    Well done though
