Thinking about doing this with our 8 year old tomorrow, has anyone done it before, he’s into bikes and space so looks like a decent half term ride.

Sounds like a good idea especially to put into perspective how big and sparse just our solar system is.. Don’t always get that from looking at pictures.

I saw that solar park thing on a documentary and thought it was a really good idea, wouldn’t mind doing it myself!

Yes, done it many a time, it’s very well done, but some of the sculptures could do with a lick of paint. Good amount of tarmac, quite a bit of hardpacked rail conversion. Food and drink from the garden centre and the honesty box cafe, and not far off the track to the pub at Naburn. Pluto is easy to miss, it’s up the bank off to the side at the end by the layby at Riccall.

Done it today, good ride for an 8 year old who loves space, the honesty cafe is good too!
