It’s been a bit of a shock but I’m no longer a mtber*. 1998-2015, so a good innings.

I need cheering up with photos of people enjoying themselves riding their bikes, countryside, town, hills, dales, mud, dust, snow, beaches and gurt big mountains. Anywhere really.

    *Due to injuries.

    sorry to hear that.

No pictures of me riding a bike as people would end up with tea all over their keyboards from laughing.

Well that’s just rubbish, very sorry to hear it. Can you still ride at all? I’d be happy to bimble up and down the Monsal Trail or somewhere with you guys, could bring the boy along to something like that too.

Here’s my mid-life crisis bike halfway down Jacob’s Ladder a couple of months back:

And here’s me shcralping the gnar on my way to an incredible 500-something-ish placing at the Ard Rock Enduro:

    Absobloodylutely – love that photo

mintimperial – thanks for that offer but no cycling atm (no even a flat canal). Will see what time brings for maybe easy touring. Sadly no mtbing. It’s not worth it with all the injuries I’ve had in the last 2 years.

Edit – Tom you’re going the wrong way (Jacobs ladder) 😉

Sorry to hear that, it was a help swapping emails with you when we had similar injuries.

Hope you’re still able to ride road at least, or do other stuff that gives the same feeling.

I’m back riding as normal now, in fact the injury somehow led to me riding about twice as much. Was up in the Lakes on Weds…

Heehee Jackie, she can barely get over the frame let alone hoist up to saddle height. Ton – looks like Middle Moor, is it?

Will definitely be on 2/3 wheels in some form or other in the future.

I just have some wonderful memories. Ridden with brilliant people from here. Cleaned every ascent I’ve wanted and cleaned every descent I’ve wanted, not always skillfully, quite often with caution but got there.

I feel your pain and sadness Bunnyhop. I’m in a similar boat myself at present and have spent the last few months trying to get my head round the fact that my cycling days could well be over. I did squeeze two lift assisted weekends away in late spring with my riding buddies, so have good memories but thinking about all the rides and craic i missed this summer and the ones i will miss in the future is a real downer.

Anyway, it’s not all doom and gloom – there’s always the chance i may recover enough to play with my friends again 😀
