Had some Madison D’arcs for yonks, but hate wearing them ‘cos the distortion is awful.
They make me feel like I’m floating above the bike, dangerous when scrambling too.

Any sub Oakley brands distortion free, cheapish with good spares backup?

Would consider Oakley if cheap, but the range is very confusing and I don’t know where to start.

Tifosi are the obvious answer. Spares don’t make a lot of sense at lower prices so treat them as disposable.

Do they distort?
Would be perfect if not.

The thought of spending a ton on a pair of specs is a bit scary.

Oakley Jawbone replicas off dealextreme – ditch the lenses and get jawbone lenses from visonary lenses on ebay.

bolle are fine – no edge distortion and made to a very high standard – better than oakleys as they are CE standard for UV and for protection.

£7 – if you don’t get on with them its no great loss

DX Jawbone with some real Oakley lenses would be good, There was a pair for £22 in the classifieds yesterday that i almost bought for the above Jawbones I’ve just ordered.

Get cheap sunglass frames from TK Max then get them glazed to your prescription.

Looked on the Oakley site, they recommend 3 types for cycling, but 21 types for MTB’ing…….aaaaaaarggggggh.

And they start at £105!

Have you tried Decathlon ? They do some with interchangeable lenses pretty cheap.

I have found the above all to be pretty decent, I got some cheap ones from wiggle with a blue lens that are pretty good in low light conditions, but I find that the problem with cheap lenses in general is when sunlight starts hitting them at angles they just don’t cope with it.

No idea, but genuine Oakley lenses fit, so you could get the proper Oakley prescription lenses.
