How tall are you?

The reason I ask I am 6 3 and according to the Canyon calculator I need an xl. I'm not convinced as one of our club members is 6 1 and uses an xl. I have long legs and feel I would rather go bigger than smaller.

All opinions welcome thanks.

If you've got long legs relative to your torso you may be better off with a smaller frame and longer seatpost. I'm a leggy 6'4" and ride a Spesh 58"/XL.

I've got a medium Ultimate AL which fits me fine (even better after i bought a slightly shorter stem.

The numbers i put into the canyon site were:

Body Height 183
Shoulder Width 45
Inseam Length 84
Torso length 70

I use 172.5mm cranks on it.

Don't know if that helps.

Yes it does, thanks very much for your input. Pulls me back towards xl I suppose.

Good. I was really impressed with the bike too. The only frustrating thing is that i wanted to try a shorter stem by as they use 1 1/4 inch steerers they are hard to find and not cheap. I got my new one from Germany in the end.

Didn't find Canyon sizer very helpful, but unlike you I have short legs and a long body.
Went up a size in the end and it's perfect for me.
For yourself I agree with above about going for an xl and long post. Compare top tube length with a bike you feel comfy on. I also found the reach and stack measurements helpful.

My current bike is an old steel frame with top tube 590 mm this edges towards xxl on canyon sizing which is 600 mm but is slightly angled so may compensate?

Dont forget to check the headtube lengths (against each other and a current bike), XXL could out you higher than you would like. Shorter TT lengths can be overcome with longer stems. its all a balance really.
