So It looks like my missus has booked us up for a week in BCN in October, not that I’m complaining as I think It’s one of the best Cities in the world.Plenty of culture , great football team and some of the most amazing architecture.
My question is seeing as It has a decent size hill where the ‘Tribador’ Is have any of you actually ridden there. ?
Failing this can I hire a road bike and go for a blast anywhere close. ?

I started a thread on this a while back. I’ll try and dig it out by it won’t be til sat. There are good looking trails right on the edge of town and very nearby, not ridden them myself though.

Interested too, though I doubt I’d escape the wrath of the other half if I disappeared for a day.

Also Going to BCN in July, so will watch this with interest.

Frankly a day away from the ‘culture’ and god awful ‘architecture’ might well prevent a marriage breakup halfway throught the week.

I rode some trails around Barca years ago when I was staying with my girlfriend over there. They were ok but I wouldn’t fly my bike out for them. My guide was my GF’s brother and I don’t think he was the most knowledgeable of the area though.

We walked allover Barcelona- took the cable car then walked back down past the Olympic site etc etc. I think it’d be great just to hire noddy/standard city bikes for BOTH of you and just explore together. Save your lifestyle mountain biking for here. Explore and enjoy together. Afterall you ARE going together.

Oh and in the Los Ramblos(?) next to the market is a great Veggie Falafel-type place. I ate lunch there almost every day 😀

These look fun. La poma is somewhere central and La clau is outside the city to the north west.

YEP! Our flat was just around the corner and I had my ear chewn off for constantly going there every day!

Sad but this looks like the side entrance (market side)- main at the front.

I rode past Tribabor on a tour, it was a bit of a climb, I saw only amusements, no trails!

From a Spanish colleague who lives in Barcelona.

“Barcelona surroundings are really nice for mountain biking.

There are two bike shops that organize a weekly cycling.

This is the thread I was on about – http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/biking-in-barcelona

Sounds like it would be worth getting in touch with the poster called emanuel off that thread., I reckon a local guide would be very handy.

tribador I suppose is tibidabo.some nice stuff there.look at mpora, bcn, collserola, badalona, tirita riders have some videos up.
    I live there(here).Anyone’s welcome to come for a ride,mtb,cx,road.
Some nice stuff round badalona,15mins by bike, one train stop.more cx than mtb,but there’s some amazing built sections.really well taken care of.Collserola(the bcn stuff)is different, nearly all natural.but there’s some crazy hard trails the local freeriders have built, even hauled a sofa halfway up the trail.djs, biggish gaps, really loose sand.too much for me.lots of climbing whatever you do.
If you (generic you) want to come for a proper ride,4-5hs then you’re welcome.if not, well I suppose I could meet you somewhere.only go out on weekdays, too many hikers on weekends.
It’s hot here, already.so whatever you do don’t forget to bring at least 3lt of water.
I’m not that good, but I’m not bad,I suppose that describes my level.
