For me…Muc Off, had a set as a gift and after it ran out i’ve just used the bottle filled with water. Cant say the muc off did anything that the water didnt…utter waste of money…

There are quite a few I think! One I’ve been considering lately is the long-travel rip off. I have a decent 120mm travel bike, I’ve recently been thinking about 160mm bikes- it seems that the manufacturers expect me to pay almost twice as much to gain 40mm travel. I appreciate the bigger dia forks are more expensive and pivots are possibly burlier along with thicker tubing. There is no way those changes can be the reason for the price hike, it’s just manufacturers being greedy.

Headsets are a bloody rip off.

Spares parts for forks/brakes/frames etc seem massively overinflated too.

Modern suspension forks. The disappointment was like being told santa didn’t exist again when I took my fox apart and found they weren’t made meythril coated unicorn bones.

Dropper seat posts, they are good and I love using mine, but not sure it’s worth over £200. If I could have tried one for a few months then decided I would probably pass.

there are lots of expensive things out there, but i’m struggling to think of one that you can’t happily ignore…
