Hi, got a few week off shortly looking for a nice place to stay in the lake district pref near a trail center that has family trails to take my girlfirend and 14 month old son on the back of the bike in his trailer

Have you thought about Youth Hostels. Most have family rooms, the restaurants are normally good quality and in-expensive. There are loads to choose from in the Lakes so you can change location easily. I have stayed at Conniston and Hawkeshead recently and they where excellent.
