I run Avid Juicy brakes. I want to run a 180/185 (whatever it is) rotor on the front (currently a 160mm).

I have an old spare set in the garage, am I right that the standard mount for a 160mm rear would convert a front into 180 do-able?

I know I could buy an adapter for a couple of quid, but just thinking that if I have one already sat there doing nothing, might as well use it.

    Thanks.

Its close but they are not quite the same…I have both sat here so I’ve bolted them together to see the difference: the centre of the holes the caliper fits to is out by 1 to 2mm and the height of the 185mm is about 2mm taller. I reckon an additional couple of washers on the 160mm between adapter and caliper would sort it although can’t do much about the centres.

Give it ago, it’s not like brakes are safety critical features 😉
