I'm slightly sandoffish until i get to know someone.
Then i'd do anything i possibly could to help them.
Not keen on falsely friendly people though.Posted 4 months ago # -
? that would make you false abit then wouldnt it singlespeedstu = you say you are standoffish till you get to know someone.... why be like that ?

Never saw him as standoffish ... Possibly because we were drunk riding singlespeeds in aviemore

I'm friendly, but often find it difficult around people I don't know, especially if there's no context. This comes across to others as grumpy and distant. I'm getting better with age and on reflection must have been awful when I was younger.
I'm also quite intolerant toward unthinking and irrational people.

No. It'd make me someone that doesn't get taken in by bullshiners.

That's because you didn't come across as a BS merchant.
Well that and the fact that i'd already riden most of a 100K event with you.

(EDIT - also, I don't hug people. Society seems to view me with surprise and suspicion because I'm a female who doesn't hug others.. must not be friendly)
I'm with you on this one. Can't stand hugging, especially when you hardly know each other. What's that all about?
Same goes for air kisses.

Definitely friendly and treat others the same until they are not deserving of 'friendliness'.
I have been told it is very obvious when I don't like someone, even though I may be trying to hide it but it doesn't bother me, why should it?

Yeah, I hope so, I want to be. That's all you can do I suppose. I can be very independent and like my own company as well though. And I'm not the best at communicating when I need or want a friend around.

SSstu has always been a welcoming friendly bloke, never come across as standoffish to me, like trailrat most of our meetings have involved silly bikes or lots of booze though
