A few years ago bumped into a guy with the lightest steel BObJackson road bike. Is that possible?!

My 853 Rourke weighs 8.2kg’s, and could have been lighter if I had used SRAM Red rather than Force22 and used carbon bars, stem and seatpost instead of alloy, so yes, lightweight affordable steel bikes are possible.

Can do you a super deal on an Osprey if you are interested and I have the right size 51,54 and 59 only.

Thank you Sam, but I was looking for something a little sportier.

neilm, agree I need to! never weighed a bike, weigh my 853 Genesis. Like you I went Force but 10. The kit is all Superlegera carbon though, but it’s the sub 1000g wheels that lighten it

Would this suit? Size large, but the ETT is only 55.5cm

Mild excitement as the tubes are getting cut. Hoping to have a very small hand in the build.
Went for brazed plain gauge with Columbus SL seat tube. All filet except a lugged seat cluster for shot in stays and integral bolt.
    Straight forks.
Standard 11/8 Ahead and threaded BB.
Powder coat light blue and pale orange.
All my old Campag going on it.
New training wheels, Nemesis tubs on Ambrosio .
    Should weigh several tons.

From Bob Jackson? What’s the damage for the frame if you don’t mind me asking.

Oh not BJ, but a mate that builds bikes and components for other builders.
Pretty cheap, but it is plain pipe. Though built to custom spec. Under £500
