  • Anyone know a source of wild elderberries around Glasgow?

My girlfriend is dying to make some brew for the visitors at Christmas and would love a bag of elderberries. I have been keeping my eyes peeled on the travels around Glasgow north (Torrance and surrounding area) but have not seen any at all.

We would be most gracious if anyone could help!

Elder is everywhere man, esp around wet areas. Get out and walk – must be loads along the river Kelvin.

What would she make anyway – Elder wine? Get some sloes ( Blackthorn) and make Sloe Gin – much better / more seasonal

It seem to be abundant along old railway lines around here – check some of them out maybe

That's why it's frustrating…I know there should be plenty but I have simply not seen any at all. The red stems should be very easy to spot at this time of year too!
