Just back from 4 1/2 days of riding out of Orgiva. Fly to Malaga, 1hr45 transfer to a town that’s basically houses all the central administration functions for the region. And many bars 🙂 Been here before in 2013, one of the great routes has been lost to fire/flooding, but we still had nearly five days riding dusty, rocky singletrack with superb views and virtually no people. If I was single, I’d be booking again to go in Feb!

We booked (for a second time) with David from http://bikingandalucia.com. Brilliant value, nice rustic accommodation (with free beer) and good guiding. Definitely recommended.
It wasn’t mad to be fair. Quite short days. Cold in the morning and cold by 4:30pm. And we always wanted a post ride beer in the sunshine. WE did 1000m+ on a couple of days but not much more. Had two uplifts as well so last day was 400m of climbing and 1450m of descending. That was a good day 🙂
I don’t think I’ve seen the sun since I got back 5 days ago! Having sat on the M42 this morning for an hour, and then on a broken train outside a rainy Coventry station, I’m already fantasying about going back. I cheered myself up last night by eating an olive 😉
