Really enjoying vids like these at the moment.

It's just your average joe getting out and riding a mountain bike. Going out and enjoying riding some good terrain, ie mountain biking. It's this kind of riding that i love about MTB, the freeness and the flexibility, getting out and exploring.

On a similar note, a lot of DHers in my area are ditching the DH bike in favour for 6" bikes and the riding it opens up whilst not missing the DH bike.

Hopefully the riding image vids like this convey will blow up, and it will all be just MTBing, not xc or DH.

Ultramontane series needs a mention too - http://www.pinkbike.com/video/244632/

Love that first vid - what a line at 1:20 etc!! And his slab riding is awesome - especially the deliberate rear wheel skids.

Shared this one a while back but didn't get much interest. One of those vids that makes me want to get my bike and ride to the top of a mountain then back down it again.

Love the first vid, especially the greenery too as well as the biking. I am sure a lot of that is much harder than it looks, but it is my kind of trail.

That trail in the almost spring edit is literally my dream trail, needs some steep, tech chutes, apart from that, 99% ideal. I think it has sold me a mojo HD too.

Can you download these videos? I love the Blue oyster Cult one - I've watched it loads of times. Id love to download it so I can watch it on a plane, or somewhere with no wifi, but i didn't know you could.

I love the Mojo Trail Diaries series from a couple of years back and also any of Joe Barnes's edits, love seeing him tear it up on a trail bike. The This Is Sheffield gang seem to come up with some nice ones too. Much prefer these sort of edits as i can relate to them a bit more and actually motivate me (not that i need it) to ride more than a vid of front flips, back flips, flip whips, 360 bar spins etc.

Was thinking this a minute or two before seeing this thread. Why do many people still have a DH bike when you can have just so much fun on an AM one. If you choose well then you could end up going faster on 95% of the trails you ride.
The vid i was watching:

My thoughts exactly. But you're obviously not bad-ass enough unless you have a full-face, neck brace, pyjamas and a mortgage to pay for your engineless motorbike in order to ride over some rocks 0.2s faster than your mate. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Seriously though, 6" bikes are so capable now, you can just about ride big xc days on them as well as riding the hardest DH the uk (most of the world) has to offer. Is there actually any point to a DH bike apart from racing (a dh obviously gains you a little bit of time in the super rough)?

To be fair, I consider myself a fair AM rider, but when I've ridden around guys with neck braces and downhill bikes, they are definitely going a hell of a lot faster than me. I'm sure they'd also go much faster than me without neck braces and on my bike. But I'm reall happy to ride and wear whatever keeps them happy.
