I’m going! Can’t decide between my on one or my Trek FS, heard the trails are techy so may take the FS.

techy-ish in places – mostly slippery, with occasional hellish dark/wooded steep descent with no grip. there is also a large slick rock section with 3 foot deep plunge pools that can be fun 🙂 on the whole though it is pretty standard bridleways and fireroads.

the weather is the biggest variable – last year was the first time I’ve ever seen the sun on the wobble; normally it is bloody freezing with sleet or heavy rain / drizzle.

    Can’t wait!

    O Yes!

‘Dangerous Dave’ will no doubt be playing a few classics – again. Bring back the stair diving!

Marko – Pissed as a fart and camping in the mud. Bliss

    Bring back the stair diving!

there was a bit of a clamp down on that last year… probably for the best – watching the cream (no pun intended) of welsh manhood diving naked down the dirty stairs in the neuadd is a sight I have tried hard to forget!

I’m there too, just blagged a bed in a mate’s campervan as well. Which is very nice.

Meeting up with Tonyplym in the Neuadd on Friday night.

[Note to self- don’t forget to pack paracetamol]

    10 of us heading up

Done it many times but have missed the last 2 years due to broken collar bone and then a business trip

Awesome weekend. Beer, biking, mosh pit. Great fun 🙂 Journey home to Bristol can be pretty grim though 🙁

Usually do it on a HT but my lower back is giving me a bit of grief so may take the full suss. I would say a HT or short travel FS would be the best options.

z1ppy – No real technical challenges though some good all round winter tyres can help in the typically very wet and slippy singletrack

It will be slippy as a greased up ell swimming in castor oil. Trust me on this. It always is, even last year, on the new ‘sunny’ route.

‘nother virgin here. Just got pink slip from Mrs S for saturday/sunday. Will also have a wholly inappropriate SS with me.
what’s the score on camper vans – is it OK to park at the Neuadd?

If you call into the Neuadd they’ll direct you to the camp site and relieve you of £8.

Stalking’s where it’s at for the RAW. You don’t need a bike, just a fixed, unfocused stare… 😯

You forgot to mention The Bog Of Doom that you need a fatbike to get through without sinking up to your neck. 😉

Or let a fatbike go through first in order to rid the hole of water 😉
