Daftpunk: Random Access Memories onwards. They always had a good groove but adding natural voice and some guitar broadened their appeal
Agreed. Homework was genre defining, influential and cutting edge.

‘Why?’ Said the man as they found some food
‘It was just a bit predictable’ said the boy

If only I could get it to Oldbury,I work for a Children’s Trust and the rooms that ‘contact’ with birth parents takes place in are really tired. I bet if you contacted local children’s places they would bite your hand off.
The organisations that is, not the children.Posted 3 weeks ago | Go to post

I work in children’s social care. This year we have distributed over 4000 presents to children on child protection/child in need plans, children on care orders living at home, children and families receiving targeted early help services and best of all…young people that have left the care system and often get overlooked.
It’s been busy, hectic but heartwarming.Posted 1 month ago | Go to post

Reply to: Favourite trail beer?
The 4 for £6 offers are a loss leader. £18 is probably about the cost of breing 6 cans of beer, paying duty, putting it in a box and shipping it to you. The supermarkets are frequently cheaper than cash and carry, sometimes cheaper than buying it by the barrel!
So the £8 post and packing they have added is them fleecing us?

I took it to the local phone guy this morning. Definitely not a build up of cack…it’s loose. ‘Baggy’ was the word he used…he says he sees it a lot.
He said he could change the port, I’m going to carry on looking at shiny phones though!Posted 2 months ago | Go to post
Thanks again to everyone, lots of really useful information.
My iPhone is in its third year…would the Apple store still want to fix it?Posted 2 months ago | Go to post
^ tried the compressed air. I’ve tried everything but the port is shagged, if I hold the phone upright the cable just falls out!Posted 2 months ago | Go to post
You know the iPhone 11 does dual sims?
I didn’t, but it’s around a tenner more expensive per month, much less storage…and will still have the shared charge/earphone port.Posted 2 months ago | Go to post
Thanks all, the dual sim swings it…I’ll look at the s10e (it’s even cheaper)…

I did that Jam Bo…(several times). Also put tape in the hole to make it smaller…and followed the instructions of the videos on the first 3 or 4 pages of google that deal with this issue.
The fact is, that charging daily, and using wired headphones throughout the day has shagged it.
I have lost my love for Apple….Posted 2 months ago | Go to post

Reply to: Concussion, return to play
I had concussion from kickboxing, an immediate headache…after 5 days I went to A&E but because I didn’t trigger their indicators, I didn’t get a scan.
I followed the doctor’s advice of ‘take painkillers, take it easy’ for a further 4 weeks…until I rushed into hospital for emergency brain surgery.
My ‘concussion’ was in fact a bleed (subdural haematoma) but because I had left it so long it had got worse. I was told that a further 36 hours would have probably seen me off…definitely a stroke at least.
I’m on a phased return to work after nearly 6 weeks off, and only just getting physically and emotionally back to normal.
If someone has asked me during my headaches – I would have played it down. If it persists for any longer perhaps get it checked out?Posted 2 months ago | Go to post
Reply to: New Rock Albums …..
New Model Army ‘From Here’ is their best album in…ever
Only 1 really traditional ‘rock’ song, but the intensity and depth in the album is astonishing.
The fact that a band are releasing material that pushes the boundaries like this nearly 40 years into their career is incredible.Posted 2 months ago | Go to post
Reply to: Wife thinks I have anger issues??
There is a system where if you want to use the air and water but the space is in use then you park in the space next to it. Then when it becomes free you move your car into it. Simple as that.
Is there a sign letting users know about the system? If not, it’s not a system. We have a Tesco garage near us with the last parking bay also having the air/water pump next to it. There are no signs, and often people will park there and do their shopping…it’s just the way it is.
In the years I’ve been driving I have never heard of a system like the one you describe, and I would have assumed the bay was free if there was no car in it.Posted 3 months ago | Go to post

This is so funny. I know the guy in the photo…(the naughty one). I sent this pic to him (not the thread) and he thinks I’m stalking him! He’s really puzzled how I have his photo, and he’s asked me not to tell his wife as he hasn’t dressed up to her!!!

@cougar x2 for Stocard, just a shame it doesn’t work for everything (looking at you Nectar and Boots)
Surely, we’ve all ditched Nectar cards when they got into bed with the Daily Mail?

Reply to: New bathroom, minimal hassle
Lunge – are you near Kingswinford? Your Choice bathrooms do just that. We have used them for a bathroom, a downstairs toilet and a wet room over the years.
Someone comes out and measures up, shows you samples, you choose the bits you want. They book you in, and it’s normally 5 days for a full bathroom (inclding ripping out existing, fitting, tiling, plastering, lights etc)
