Sarries Munster didn’t look / sound great other than a big brawl.

The most disappointing big brawl ever.

Alex Sanderson’s description of why it happened was more entertaining than the push-shove.

    tried allsorts. stil there.

    Fruit Pastilles are equally ineffective.

  • Tried it on Zwift yesterday with no ill effects.

Presumably Zwift is what you named your pet gerbil?

I was shot at whilst cycling home from a night out in High Wycombe during my uni time there.

    It was an air pistol

I was shot at by an air rifle/pistol years ago, before I carried a mobile phone. It was from the front window of a house in a rough-ish part of Swansea. Today, if it happened, I’d be straight on to the police and watching in…[Read more]

  • IdleJon replied to the topic Annual holiday spend in the forum Chat Forum 2 weeks ago

Pretty much everyone I work with has two foreign holidays a year. I had 2 last year and go away to Wales or the Lakes every other weekend. This years has been mostly U.K. due to lots of building work on a property Im moving to. I don’t earn a fortune just prioritise well I guess and having no kids helps with disposable income.

    And for b…[Read more]

I’ve never noticed that on any other tyre apart from the MM I recently started using. Slightly disconcerting!

How strong was the Ospreys side?

They started with Hook at 10, and Marvin Orie at 6 for his first time in the back row. It was a very weak Ospreys side. They were also really poor, regardless of the team selection. It wouldn’t surprise me if Clarke gets sacked soon.

Is there something written into rugby contracts that states that Sweet Caroline needs to played every twenty minutes in every single bloody rugby ground in the world?

  • and I’ve seen everyone from Bruce Springsteen and Guns’n’Roses to Fatboy slim

Nobody even vaguely modern then? 😂

Chalk markings on gate post found as well…

Curiously old fashioned ways of supposedly marking burglary-worthy houses. Carry around many old pairs of boots* and some chalk vs. take a photo or make a note of the house number on the ubiquitous smart phone.

*I’m guessing that your Victorian burglars don’t just scope out houses with one pair of bo…[Read more]

  • IdleJon replied to the topic Liam the mountain unicyclist in the forum Chat Forum 3 weeks ago

    I find unicycles unreasonably irritating.

I was showing a bunch of fat bikers around my local trails a few years ago. (Pipiom from here, if he still posts.) We stopped for coffee and a bloke wandered over to inspect their bikes, and immediately launched into the fact that he rode a unicycle. No relevance to us, or our bikes, our ride or…[Read more]

  • They might of only been in there 2 mins to get them from home to safe walking area and i’d be judging on how happy / healthy the dogs looked rather than some arbitrary formula for how many dogs can fit in a particular model of car.

They’d probably be even healthier if they walked the two minute drive to the local park to evacuate their bow…[Read more]

  • IdleJon replied to the topic Have Plus Bikes Died a Death ? in the forum Bike Forum 1 month ago

Some folk still believe that you can judge a whole category of bikes by riding one and a whole category of tyres by riding one of that size. Weird, innit?

And that what’s suitable for riding bridleways in east Anglia is good for riding tech-gnar stuff in Wales. 😁

My Plus bike is great fun. Immense grip on tech tracks, but sluggish on long xc r…[Read more]

  • not buying the very cheapest stuff, except for the ski baselayers which are super warm and cost about 8 quid!

I picked up on for £3.99 – half price – a few weeks ago. Used it twice, once on the MTB with a pack and once on the Vagabond without. It’s comfortable, doesn’t sweat up and is warm enough under a soft shell. I’m very impressed!

So, Haskell’s in the Jungle on I’m a Celebrity. I might just watch it.

He’s also signed a contract with Bellator to fight in heavyweight MMA. He presented some of the UFC coverage last week. (Apologies if already mentioned!)

  • IdleJon replied to the topic anyone hear of Computershare? in the forum Chat Forum 1 month ago

Good advice above, Computershare are a legit company (we use them for our company share scheme) but that doesn’t mean to say whoever contacted you is actually from Computershare.

I had a similar letter from a financial company this time last year. It was legit – I’d had a life insurance/assurance policy about 15 years ago that I’d totally forgo…[Read more]

Lots of my favourite albums already mentioned, and quite a few that I need to investigate further. I’ll suggest….

    Lloyd Cole – Rattlesnakes

He sort of passed me by in the 80s. I just didn’t get his music. I’ve been listening to this a lot this year, though, and think its genius.

  • We all sat down to watch it. The 12 year old disappeared about halfway through. The 8 yr old asked if it was real. 😂 All enjoyed enough to watch again next week.
