Challenge, maker of the dreamy and grit-ready Paris-Roubaix ‘road’ tyres, as well as the much-loved Baby Limus cyclocross tyre, has some interesting things going on this season.
The company released the Baby Limus last year to much fanfare in the cyclocross world, and they’ve upped the game with it this season. In addition to its original 300tpi SuperPoly-casing sibling, the new 320tpi Baby Limus Team Edition is made with a pre-soaked Corespun Cotton casing. The idea behind the Team Edition line, which also includes the Grifo, Limus and Chicane, is to produce super-high-end and -performance rubber hoops that racers can mount right to their wheels without much hassle of prepping and conditioning.
Challenge is also quite committed to the gravel side of things. The company has recognized the awesomeness of the ‘murdered-out’ style, and is now producing its 33mm Strada Bianca in all black, instead of tan sidewalls.
The Gravel Grinder, essentially a more beefy file tread-style tyre, now enjoys a 260tpi open tubular platform. For those that do enjoy classic styling, this handmade Pro version of the Gravel Grinder is available in all black, or with tan sidewalls.
