Yes. CDs are my favoured medium. Cassette tape for stuff that isn’t, never was, or never will be on CD. Digital files for having a listen before you buy CDs. No interest in vinyl records anymore, but cassettes, yes.

This is exactly me. Although perhaps I’m a little more obsessed with CD not only as a medium but for the engineering, mathematics and science behind it. Ive read too many books on the subject. I love that people love vinyl. It just doesn’t light my laser.

I’m all for embracing whatever medium you choose. The music is far more important than the listener straining to hear the differences in the different mediums available. Let’s face it, it’s really not as important as a lot of you think. I appreciate a certain level of quality of course, but let’s not ruin it with format wars…

I play in a Manchester based hardcore band. We have put stuff out on cassette. Why? Cos the kids these days demand it. Is it a fad? Certainly. But the public gets what the public wants.

I think I’ve seen you play (with Sikkapillu) and have a couple of your cassettes. Are Dave Duck and Neurotic Myke in your band?

    In here maybe…?

G8 Plus has better cameras and NFC. G8 Power has the bigger battery.
I’m in the market and would probably go for the Plus as I’m not a huge user…

After 20 odd years on Vodafone contracts, I went to sim-only at the end of my last contract in April. I opted for Voxi, which is part of Vodafone, making the process so much easier, even keeping the same sim. I’m quite happy with it and can cancel any time if I want. The process of changing to another supplier should be quite simple after using this potential stepping stone.

£60ish per week for me and 18 yr old son. That includes his soft drinks but not my alcohol.
But I’ll probably blow £20+ on a ruby tomorrow for me and the GF now that we can ‘bubble’ (not a euphemism) + beers on top of that.

Yes, just play the CDs. I embrace all formats, but if you’ve got the discs then your best quality is there. Use the other formats for stuff you haven’t got on CD.

Rolling pin on floured glass thing. All my oven tins are rectangular, so form dough into a sausage shape and first few longitudinal rolls don’t go right to the ends to leave enough spare to roll the corners out on the cross rolls. Lots of flipping and flouring. There’s no shop-bought pizza to interest me anymore, just takeaway or home made…

The G8 Plus does, and better optics than the Power…

This was filmed in the flat where the singer used to live, just round the corner. He used to drink in my local, usually with the drummer, but often with the other guys too. Was always a great laugh and full of great stories. He borrowed our guitarist for a gig once. Still lives locally and always makes a point of letting on or having a chat when we can. Makes me laugh. Knows his stuff. Not sure what he’s up to now…

I won an iPOD mini on the Walkers Crisps promo a few years ago. It was an hourly giveaway and I was working nights at the time. Won a second one for my ex and a few of the lads at work were succesful too. Don’t think I ever used the thing though. Won a DMR Squid saddle signed by Sam Reynolds on a Facebook thing and a Vimtoad Mug. Erm, I think that’s it…

200 Mb, phone & Mixit TV (I think) was £42
Email last week saying it was going up to £64 as the discount had ended.
    Phone call.
Settled on £43 for the same deal for 12 months.

The Sex Pistols may very well have wanted anarchy across the whole sovereignty, so imagine my delight when the Dead Kennedys pin-pointed my home town for their overseas revolution. (I think we only appear properly in the KLF one…)

We released a split tape with another hardcore band from Manchester a couple of years ago because thats what “the kids” were into.

I’d be interested to know who these two bands are.

That bit wasn’t directed at you Derek, just the thread in general.

I think you have made the correct choice.

It always happens! I did want an answer to a genuine question. And then STW syndrome manifested.

I guess the answer is, “If you want to”.
The medium is far less important than the music.
If you spot differences between a £600 system and a £6000 system, you aren’t really getting it. You’re looking for the wrong thing in your music.

Aldi copy of Warbies Toastie (actually a bit thicker), any cheese really from mature cheddar down to grated mozzarella or a mix of what you have in. The milder cheddars give a better melt but lack the bite of course so a mix is always good, L&P or Hendos, oregano, s&p. optional extras are chilli sauce, tomato, onion. Never tried Marmite underneath, that’s next on the list. Cheers for the tips.

Got to agree with Cougar, any that are already available online via newsgroups, torrents, P2P or blog links, just grab those. Rip the few that may be left with DB Poweramp or the equivalent.
Personally, I’d keep the CDs to play for best quality, but yeah, you’ve already given your reasons for not wanting to do this…

We have twin Romanian sisters as our home helps. Both are on zero hour contracts so we don’t have to pay them anything if we don’t want to thank God. One does the cleaning and the other does the laundry/ironing. We’ve agreed to keep them on at half pay as even though the wife is off work at the moment, she doesn’t like getting her hands dirty. £3 an hour isn’t bad in these uncertain times though, and they both seem really grateful to continue the work. It’s difficult for us all but it’s good to keep the economy going…

    Heh. Subtle 🙂

    I forgot I’d put this on. Obviously I don’t really have a wife…

Yes, Fugazi were awesome live, MCR Boardwalk 89 and at the Irish club in Hulme. Only saw them these two times. Black Flag, yes plenty of mutuals there 😃. Looking at some of these lists, perhaps an A to Z of bands I should have seen would be in order…

My Voda contract is up this month. I’m cancelling and getting a sim-free G7 power (to replace an A5). Probably going on GiffGaff £12 deal with it.
It doesn’t have NFC. I don’t need that, but you might…?

No, you’re not being tight. The fact that you’ve asked the question here shows that you know it’s far too expensive…
Spend it on something more worthwhile, which may include other gigs…
