Solved the problem for me I’ve needed to change the rims on my codeine so I’m having the front wheel rebuilt with a hope hub the bearings are more readily available. Sram just being arses using a bastard size bearing. Not very customer friendly/serviceable IMHO.
You can get the sram brgs from here to:

Another one for the positives here. First I also thought a shock bush had gone only to find a loose bolt, easy fixes are the best. My first visit to Revolution BikePark yesterday. Never done any DH’ing as such before so was a bit nervy. Got about 7 runs down the free ride line into the woods at the bottom which was root infested & claggy. Lucky I’d put a magic Mary on the front though the first five times down I got dumped on my ass, then a eureka moment. Let some air out muppet! Now I started with 2bar(29psi) so probably finished with 25psi and the last two runs I cleaned it, Luck? Maybe. The Codeine didn’t miss a beat and the wheels held up as true as they started. If I did have to change rims I’d go with DL-31’s because I’m clutzy. By the end it was carrying 3-4lbs of mud but made a brilliant day of it not to mention many raised eyebrows in the carpark. A 29er on their turf? Whatever next 🙂 A+ to the Cod!

Hi Brant, earlier in this thread (page 2) you agreed that shimano brakes will be an option on the build. Any chance of a Hope option I don’t mind digging into the pocket to make up the difference if any.
    Thanks.

Just sorted the finance :-)so hopefully they’ll be letting you know my blue build pre-order is a go. I assume the deal you got from sram means Hope brakes are not an option otherwise love the build and I have to say I have no experience with Avids, I just like those Hope tech3 E4 beauties. I’ve tried 2-29ers, the Tallboy and gyro, both were more agile than I expected but pedal bashing on the Tallboy was a pain does the Codeine ride a touch higher?

Thanks for all the info guys, RL2’s ordered from JTech suspension £410 and he strips works his magic (regrease/valving) and them sets them to your weight and travel preference (140mm for my 456ti). He recommended the RL2 to me which he is running on his rig even though he can supply the big names. Hoping to see them tomorrow, get them in for playtime at Llandegla. Already got the vengeance coils which have been excellent. Btw also spoke to Chain reaction tech who said they’re seeing a few pike DPA’s in their returns dept?!

Glad you got your bike back and only a few cuts n bruises you never know what scum like this might be carrying though as they are prepared whereas you are not. The best way to deal with trash like that would be to punish their own families assuming they haven’t already been disowned. It’s better that you as you have, try to make people aware to, maybe there should be a prominent notice about this incident at each carpark entrance in breif with the reg plate that’ll keep the t**ts away. I realise we all get careless but reminders tend to help now and again.

Hmmm! Got torpedoed last Wed night front wheel looks like a pringle so figured I’d upgrade (slightly) from the OEM RS10’s which I have to say a been excellent. Saw his ad for hope/mavic open pro’s but think I’ll go elsewhere, thanks for the info.

Hi guys, it’s open! They opened it last Friday. Reckon I’ll do some but that big log jump I don’t think I’ve got the cojones for just yet :p
They did a demo day last Saturday too. They’re doing good things a Deggy been going a while now. I go with a couple of mates one of which prefers just to do the black get food n go which is fine most of the time. Reckon I’ll book a day off for some play time…
