Just bought a shiny red hope stainless one. No idea what it’s like yet other than it’s very shiny … Which is nice :)

Aye the Aussies are going to want to rip it up on the 1st day here – best for us to keep an easy pace, build a partnership or two and keep the fireworks for later.

Gave up two years ago – tough going for a while. Now have a holiday rule where I only smoke on holiday ( or when I’m so drunk that I don’t remember/care about the rule).

Yeh I tend to agree – have gone back to wet lube for the winter and might change back in the spring.

Aye – but they only go on business cards and stuff sent to clients. Never used to but lost a clients business once as another adviser somewhere told the chap that if I didn’t have the letters I wasn’t suitably qualified to provide advice – they’ve gone on ever since.

“copter” tape….. Anyone know if it’s easy to peel off and replace at a later date?

    Zoolander

I’ve just ordered a new frame and have been considering the “copter” tape. I first thought I would put some on the stays and on the top of the top tube – I then thought why bother it’s a bike it’s supposed to get scratched. I have not yet decided though.

*I would count down the days to the season starting, I would take a poachers rod to school so I could nip out at lunchtime, I would fish almost every Saturday and Sunday come rain or shine and most days after school.

Same here. Still do the odd sneaky trip to the river once or twice a year but that’s about it. Only gave up due to the cost and taking up mountainbiking (which probably costs a similar amount !)
Back on topic though it’s more likely the trawlers that are screwing up fish stocks in the sea especially as the majority of sport anglers put most back.

Just got some Altura reflex bib tights from merlin . Been avoiding the rather odd anorexic WWE wrestler look for a while but finally caved in and you know what – they are awesome – v warm, good fit and the pad is the best I’ve sat on (saves forgetting to wash my legs in the shower after a ride too!)

I’m on their Kevlar pads and have had the same set in since may. Commute on it every day and some good miles on weekends plus some trail centre trips and a fortnight in Spain and they are as good as new – even in the current winter gloop. I’m astounded to be honest.

+ 1 for queens guest house I’ve been there a few times.
Stayed at the green lanterns last weekend though – it’s at the other end near the wall – nice place and the bonus of a steak restaurant and bar onsite!

Cross country are good – limited bike space though so it’s best to book. They usually have bike compartments in one or two of the coaches for you to secure them in. Some trains have a separate coach for bikes which gives loads more room but is a pain in the ass as you have to get off the train and leg it to the bike coach before they bugger off – which is always a little worrying. If your train has this it’s best to fund the guard when your on the train to tell him when your getting off so he knows you’ve got to get your bike before he leaves. All in all it’s pretty easy though and I’ve always found cross country by far the most accommodating.

Mine took about 5 weeks – was ok to do easy rides after about two weeks though.
Whatever you do though – don’t sneeze

Good plan – I’d give one a go.
Oppositite problem from most for me, too much Lycra and I’m in danger of looking like a techicolour swan vesta when I put my lid on.
