Cheers – was looking at the Altura pocket rocket but wasn’t sure if it was any good. As the Altura Nevis I once had was less than brilliant.
About that price range is ideal as well. (£60 – 70 max I guess)

Saddles and seatposts can sound incredibly frame like with their creaking…

Nice to know it’s not just me then.

Ernie – that’s not it , not in my case anyhow. I’m a lot of things but fat ain’t one of them. If anything I could probably do with a few more calories!

Got back from hols early this morning so today will be mostly spent sorting out the jungle that has appeared where the garden once was, washing clothes and trying to remove the smell of cat piss from wherever it is in the house. Joy.

First thing , find the fish. You could have the best bait or method ever made but if you use it were theres no fish you will be a hungry boy.
Also prepare yourself for the fact that 90% of river/lake fish in thus country tast of mud.

I went to orange from vodafone when I bought my iPhone. Main reason being that I could get a signal with orange at afan …… Seems I can’t get one in my house though :/

I have the joint best man job this Saturday – bricking it and have an ear infection to boot, so will probably fall over just to cap it off.
The other BM seems to be keen to say a few things so I may leave it to him. Groom and father of the bride are’nt doing speeches either – so it may be acceptable to swerve it!

Balls – I’m allergic to quinine.
    No cramp = good
Swollen eyes can’t see where pedalling = bad

I tend to find that the zero tablets have helped me when it comes to cramp. Not tried anything else.

Take a saw, hammer and nails and use the logs to construct some awesome north shore – then leave a thankyou note thanking them for the logs

Cheers for the advice. The lockout is important for sure, use it a lot.
Was wondering if the maxle would make a difference, or at least if it were noticeable. I’m not a wheels on the ground rider but not exactly going to be doing massive jumps or drops either (3 to 4 foot max is about my limit)
    Hmmm…

Thankfully the nice people at the Queens guest house let us use their kitchen so we could self cater when we were there the other week.

Thing I can’t figure with gap jumps is how I go from front wheel up on take off to front wheel down and rear up on landing in such a short space of air!?
I’m loving drops and jumps now (cheers Jedi) have yet to get my head around gap jumps yet though.

Just set up mine with transfil flying snake ( or whatever the hell it’s called). Massive difference. I understand it’s a similar, cheaper, alternative to Gore fully sealed.
It did wreck my cable cutters though!

Yeh – I had the same question end if last year and went for the superlight. Can’t fault it either – although I’ve never ridden a giant to compare. Had a slight problem with some play developing out back but santa cruz customer service was nothing short of excellent in helping me out.

    Thing is mboy,

If you go for the slx, will you always wonder how much better the xt may have been or feel that xt will have looked better. If so go and shell out for the xt – if you are unlikely to be bothered go for the slx and pocket the difference- as there’s not going to really be much in it performance wise.
That’s the way I summed it up when I had the decision to make – xt wasn’t going to make me faster or better at riding but it would have always bugged me if I’d have gone slx.

Just changed from slx 9 speed to xt 10 and the difference is astounding. Partly I’m sure due to it being 10 speed and not 9 of course but I personally feel that the shifters and mech are worth the extra – weather theres a big difference in the cranks and chain/ cassette I don’t know – maybe weight but probably not a lot. The whole set up feels great though.
I got mine from action sports as well and can’t fault them at all.
