All that I’ve been to add on a service charge anyhow (usually 12% or so) – so they pretty much arrange the tipping for you

Looks like I’ll go with the standard version. Can’t see that the pro is worth the extra

    +1 for Cornish Pasty
I refer to them as ‘performance pasties’

Also cold (from night before’s order) performance pizza. Both delicious and easily packed into the camelback

Not a Spartan but a carbon Troy here too.
Great bikes, can’t fault the troy. Climbs well and descends far better than me!
Size wise they do come up shorter on the top tube than some but that’s perfect for me. 5 foot ten and on a medium.
The guys at freeborn were very helpful when I got mine.
Plus a lifetime frame warranty – what’s not to like :)

Bought some this week and impressed, lenses seem better than my old oakleys. They also have carbon weave frames which is great if you are a massive tart like me

Am shortly about to put a pair of Formula / Jalco wheels on the classifieds. Brand new off one of these http://www.havendistribution.co.uk/devinci-troy-carbon-sx-2015 if you’re interested.

Apologies for the pre classifieds plug – not sure if there are rules for such things

Purbecks – some great riding out there.
Wareham forest – some great stuff but hard to find if you don’t know the place
Moors valley – fairly tame but nice singletrack and some fire roads
Some other decent local stuff – pm me nearer the time as I’m bournemouth based – also check the Dorset rough riders calendar/website.
Further afield there’s some nice stuff on the Isle of Wight and around Shaftesbury. Also there’s Haldon forest in Exeter a couple of hours drive – or swinley in the other direction

The hope tech enduros are a tad heavier as you say – although I understand that most if not all of the weight gain is in the hubs rather than the rims, so less of a rotational weight trade off.
I’m saying this as I have some arriving next week after also considering the mavics and I clearly must have made the right decision I possibly am sure I think.

    Ok yeh you got me
    I’d wear it.

But I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

Got egged a few months back. Lobbed it from their car , it smacked me in the back and didn’t break. Was a tad sore after though.
It broke when it hit the road after bouncing off my back

So dog was scared, its usually nice, probably just a one off. You keep dog, take dog and son for a walk, random car backfires, dog bites sons face, again. Or maybe its a bottle cork, or a Christmas cracker or whatever. It’s happened once – it’s potential to happen again is too bigger risk.
So for me it’s goodbye to the dog.

Saw the jabba the hut Lego set in tesco yesterday. £115 !
Madness – how can Lego cost £115?

    Shame.
I’ll miss that climb – and there’s not many climbs I would say that about.
Does seem really unorganised up there at the moment – perhaps, as someone else said, its a communication issue.

    Weird.

Can’t for the life of me figure how a Heckler can be an easier bearing change than a Five.
Neither are hard but having owned both, the five is hands down the easiest job.

Heckler = Allen keys ( unusual sized buggers as well), screwdriver or similar and mallet/block of wood.
Five = Allen key and fingers.

5’10” myself and last bike was also a superlight. The five is no way near as quick climbing but is so much more bike on the downs, the difference in head angle just makes much more sense for places like Afan etc.
only way to know for sure is to try one, although admittedly I didn’t and just ordered. The top tube will seem much shorter than the superlight, but its a very different beast. The travel is endless compared to the superlight as well and it’s nowhere near as flexy :)
Unless you prefer a longer reach or have monkey arms I’d say a 17 sounds spot on, as it was for me. We are all different though :/

Changed mine from 30 to 60 last week.
Can only get about 30-35 over wireless, which was expected tbh. But the wired connection to the tv/blu ray is running at the full 60. Can’t get a wired connection to the pc to work though. It’s infuriating.
