SWW have already stated no you cant build over it is its a major surface water sewer
They have said they own the sewer and will maintain it
But so far they have not said what would happen if sewer collapsed along with part of house..
looks like at time of build an actual stream got diverted and whoever was inspecting the build ticked off the requirement to actually move the surface water sewer before the house could be built.. – thats not possible now as house are built where the pipe would have been diverted to
Looks like i’ll have to wait for answer from sww legal – and then re-market giving all the information about pipe to any buyers and see what affect it has on price..
zingerFree Member51 – had Oxford AZ jab friday lunch time – went for a 20 mile road ride after wards
Saturday I felt achy all over – like when you have bad flu – no exercise but was working all day long till midnight running a full disaster recovery test for our IT systems at work remotely
Sunday aches that had cleared up went for a 44 mile road ride
Monday – 21 MTB ride – slighly sore arm where injection was but otherwise back to normal
zingerFree MemberGood news for me – chainreaction have just got back to me and they are sending me a replacement post 8-)
Pretty good customer server if it does arrive
Im now waiting to see if wiggle are as good on a warranty claim i have submitted for a crank brothers highline post which has lost 1 cm of travel.
zingerFree MemberThx for offer , but just had email from Madison asking to send crank to them for inspection via place of purchase or other madsion dealer, as a good will gesture – so things are looking hopeful for me that i might get it replaced 8-)
zingerFree MemberSubmitted a warranty form just now – will have to see what happens
zingerFree MemberEmail sent to where i bought it – will have to wait and see what happens
Bit rubbish they come part like this – wouldn’t be much fun if you were doing 35mph down a hill and your crank arm came off along with the pedal
I’ve still got XTR m960 cranks on my Winter MTB and they are close to 15 years old – they just dont make stuff like they used to…
zingerFree MemberThe posts got a 2 year warranty – do you recon i should just go down the path of trying to get it warrantied, as it does not seem as if they want this to be easily serviced by end users , anyone else out there getting wear like this on their brand x droppers ?
I always have a mudguard when its wet so the seat post is usually free of much and water whenever i ride – so it looks like the posts been wearing excessively on the bush’s when dropped
zingerFree MemberHi
Have you checked to see if your crankset is debonding ?
my bike with ultegra 6800 crankset started to make a clicking noise
And i’ve just found the outer layer on the chainring side has started to peel away from rest of the crankset
looked on web and it seems fairly common
zingerFree MemberSold a 16 year old santacruz juliana for £450 last week
Nice light build with xtr dual control – and the bike was in great condition
So you can still get good prices for 26″ old bikes at the moment
zingerFree Member18 years back our neighbors had a nasty habit of playing load cr*p pop nusic (We are semi detached)
We asked them to lower the volume but they wouldn’t
So I turned my amp up to full whacked the sub up as high as it would go and left rage against the machine playing “Killing in the name of” on repeat
Then went out for a 30 min walk
Came back turned it down – and we never heard them make a noise again – mind you we didn’t speak to them again for 10 years…
zingerFree MemberWell at least the virus meant our lakes trip was cancelled this year – maybe in a few years time it will get back to the rocky goodness it used to be
The rocky bits made that a fun way down – so many different lines to take
zingerFree Memberhave they fixed the issue with the dust seals popping out and never staying in with the XTR Pedals ?
I had 3 pairs replaced under warranty until I was just given my money back….
New XTR Trail Pedals dust seal keeps popping out on right hand pedal
a quote from a review from flow mountain bike
”
<h2>Stable pedals, but what’s with that little migrating seal?</h2>
It’d be hard to improve on the previous XTR pedals; our only gripe was the tendency to loosen in the axle bearings, the new M9100 pedals are said to address that. The new shape offers increased support for the shoe while remaining slim for ground clearance. But, since very early on a rubber o-ring seal would creep out of the pedal body and along the axle. We’d push it back into place, and it’d eventually make its way out again. Surely the seal is there to protect the internals, but it won’t do its job if it’s not in its intended position.
We spotted it occurring on several bikes at a recent press camp, and at the EWS in Tasmania, so we’re not the only ones. We’ll see”
zingerFree MemberNever got fixed had another 2 sets under warranty they all did it !!! – in the end just got my money back and i’m back to using my old XT pedals
zingerFree MemberReplaced an old smartfit heating system which was getting a bit faulty with a Nest a few weeks back
And I’m running it dumb as well like most of us seem to end up doing
But i does look a lot nicer than the old thermostat – and lets be honest that’s the main reason most people buy them – they look cool…- and the control while out of the home may come in handy one day…
zingerFree MemberRode again today once I was out of Brighton and heading up to devil’s dyke bike riders outnumbered cars
No groups of riders other than families
On a long ride I had about 10 cars go past, I did leave ride till 3pm though and mainly hit minor roads,
But some of the roads which are usually really busy were really quiet
Stopped on a bridge over a23 and there were very few cars going north or south
Wet weather forecast tomorrow so legs will get a rest from unaccustomed road riding , glad I bought chamois cream it makes sitting down in saddle more than on mtb a lot more comfortable
zingerFree MemberFill up a bucket with tap water an leave it for for at least 1/2 a day for chemicals to dissipate and bung em in there
Get some oxygenating weed in the bucket as well
when they hatch i found they quite like gem lettuce that has been boiled for a few minutes ,and then when they started getting legs moved onto koa carp fish food
We have small pond and usually we get some in it – but none this year 8-(
But I have to take it all out and put in buckets as other wise the newts eat it all
zingerFree MemberOn saturday i waited in q on wickes online site – and was then able to order for click and collect masonary paint, pea shingle and exterior filler , they sent me a message saying it was ready – and i headed down the next day (on the way to essential grovery shopping) – waved at them through the doors and shouted my order number at them and they then pushed a trolley out with a stick and that was that ..no one else outside when i did my collection – but could see a load of trolleys with stuff on them in the store
zingerFree Memberyou need to go further north from whistler – Up To the Chilcotins
https://www.trailforks.com/route/warner-lake-float-plane-drop/
here an old trip report from 2008 when we went there
zingerFree Memberall compatible – apart from not having a SM-PCE1 unit to connect to computer to flash firmware and devices – £160 for one of them !!
Anyone in the Brighton area got one i could borrow ?
zingerFree MemberTransfer to John Lewis from Plus Net went through last night
Wasn’t seamless as they had not linked the serial number of the new router to my account
But telephone support was very good and had me up and running in 5 minutes
Seem to have the same speed as before
New router is giving much better wireless coverage, and a more minor plus point is you can turn the lights off on it altogether
Diary entry made to change over again in 12 mths time
zingerFree MemberHi crazy-legs
where did you stay in Teror – do you a have a web linky to it ?
Were not die hard roadies , but the other half wanted to go somewhere warm around her birthday
And I’m heading off to on my own USA for a few weeks MTB’ing later in march so a week of road riding should help get legs ready for that trip
We are going to take our road bikes with us – although i am thinking about swapping out the rear cassettes for something larger as some of the climbs look pretty steep
So far only seen one closed road and thats down on the south west coast
When you say north is colder than south – how much colder are is it ?
zingerFree Member“We stayed in meloneras, great apartment would tick all your boxes.”
If you could that what be very useful
zingerFree MemberI I also noticed i was paying way too much for plus net
They wouldn’t drop below £30 for line rental & Fibre even though their new customer offers were way cheaper
Had a look a round and found john lewis were much cheaper (even with the price increase in dec) – who use plusnet to provide the srevice
So i’m now in the middle of the process of plus transferring my line and fibre to plusnet 8-) from plusnet
I’ll let you know how the transfer goes next week
Got a shiny new router & a echo plus as part of the deal
Plus its ony a 12 month contract so at the end of it i’ll probably switch back to plusnet on one of their new customer deals
zingerFree Membertried on a bike once, 3 offers no luck, then ebay had a 10% off thing and i ended up getting bike for less than my lowest offer
on another occasion I had offer accepted for a nearly new shock a got a fair discount
defo worth putting in an offer or two – nothing to lose by doing so
zingerFree Membercane creek headsets are only good for riding in conditions with no moisture, hopes the way to go
zingerFree MemberI’ve had them insist on weighing bike bag before at 23kg – so i’d try to stay at 23kg
i also noticed on ba web site that they say you should ring in advance to tell them your taking a bike
Any one else bothered to do that – its impossible to get through at the mo due to the strikes..
Hopefully our trip with them to USA in sept is going to miss the strikes
zingerFree Member“Father of Ginormous”
Although i didnt start this tread thanks for that suggestion , im also heading out to USA this sept flying into seattle and ending up in Denver – I’ll do as one of my last rides (after riding in aspen) before flying home from denver
zingerFree Member“And if you do the Whole Enchilada, just about where the Kokopelli Trail joins there is another loop – I can’t remember the name. Don’t do this. Your enthusiasm will not balance the pure distilled hate of your riding
buddiescompanions.”That will be Jimmy Keen – its rather pedelly isint it – and only worth doing if
1) Your not doing days of back to back to riding and have energy to waste
2) You had to start from Hazard county and want some extra miles
3) Its dry – otherwise its a real sticky death march mud fest with mud which turns to concrete on your bike
4) You like endless switch backs which slow your down whenever you might start enjoying the trail , and want to do extra climbing for the sake of it.
JMHO….
zingerFree Member<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Crested Butte</span>
Point to Point – Shuttled rides (Note : A lot of effort and pedalling is still required for rides below)
Monarch Crest Trail (1 hours drive away) but one of the best high level point to point trails I’ve done (Leave 1 car at PS vistor centre and then drive up to Monarch Pass
403 – 401 (Shuttle – Leave 1 car at 401 top of 403 and one at middle of 401)
go down 403 then up the road to start of 401, then when 401 gets to mid point cut back to road ride down road to start of 401 and then ride back up 401 (ait rides so much better that way))
Flag Creek -> Beer Creek -> Drs Gulch -> Doctors park bonus -> Dr Park (Pretty epic hard ride in this combo)
(Again leave a car at bottom of Dr Park and drive to start of Flag
Non – Shuttled Rides
Strand hill -> Strand Bonus -> back up strand and then down canal
Teocalli Ridge Loop
Cement Creek -> Crystal Peak -> Doubletop -> Huiner Creek and back down cement creek (Epic Hard ride)
Strand hill -> fs 736 -> Farris Creek -> Canal Trail
Hartmans Rocks – 45 min drive from CB lost of riding in the rocks – handy for if the weathers bad up at Crested Butte
<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Moab</span>
Whole Enchilda from the moonlight meadows
Captain Ahab (Excellent night ride)
Najao Rocks
Dinoflow trails
Slickrock trail (I only ride this as a night ride when i visit nowadays
Depending on temperate the full mag 7 exiting down the portal is a great ride (But very easy to run out water if its very hot)
<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Furtia</span>
Kokopelli trails
Western Rim Trail
18-Road Trails
Grand Jucntion
The Ribbon as a night ride
Lunch Loops Trails
check out site ww.mtb-hol.com for pics maps etc ,, trailforks and mtb-project will have gpx downlaods for all the trails
zingerFree Memberfinally got a set of new pedals as a warranty replacement – will stick them back on bike and see what happens
zingerFree Memberit took a while – 4 weeks (a lot of that was waiting for shimano to check em out) but i’ve just had my xtr trail pedals replaced due to a dust seal popping out by bikediscount
Used the online return form to get a returns label
Quite happy as i still had my old pedals to use wheel waiting for the replacements
zingerFree Memberanyone know how bad’ the gorse is going down franks tank trail and across the common past the big stone at the moment ?
This threads reminded me i’ve not ridden down in purbeck ages might give it a go this weekend
zingerFree Memberrode it on friday – only got one foot dirty jumping across the bog of doom – your good to go – take the left at the end – much more fun singletrack imho than going right if your doing the lollipop route
zingerFree MemberHi
Thanks for the info but on on the day we went with option 3
https://www.cyclecalderdale.co.uk/route/view/mtb-great-descents
We got lucky with weather it didn’t rain on us, some of the descents were a bit sloppy but on the whole it was a fun loop
Along the way we spotted some footpaths crossing the route which looked very much like the ones you see in bike test photo shoots
There was a fair bit of road on the ride – next time i’ll hunt out options to not drop down the road once you have climbed up to gray stones lane, and probably go back up p pig to find something cheeky to drop down rather than losing all that elevation back down to hebden bridge
We will come back mid week sometime when the weathers been drier and have a good old explore around the area
zingerFree Memberalso which of the above would be best in the wet ? – as forecast is not looking great ,for today…
zingerFree MemberI do still have 2x on the bike – but its my annual trips to Colorado where the 40 tooth gets a lot of wear – riding at altitude does not encourage the use of hard gears
zingerFree Memberhttps://www.roughrideguide.co.uk/Wingnut-Hyper-3.0
very light, large hip pockets, no bladder included and its a bit expensive compared to others – but i’ve never had a sore back since i started using it 5 years back, and it does not hit my helmet going down steep stuff
zingerFree MemberThis is posted on the trees around winterfold now – can but hope peeps take notice and dont keep riding / building the trails and cause other stuff to be shut down
zingerFree MemberSaw this posted on a few trees while riding
Any one know whats going on its going o be a right bu**er if the riding gets shut down up there due to a few muppets doing whatever they like
