As long as the rims you are getting are similar it should be fine though some rims have the nipples sitting at different depths. What rims did you have and what ones are you getting? Or what hub and rim are you using?

will not work. Spacing on 9 speed shifter is not the same as 6, 7 or 8 cassetts.

Edit sorry it say 9 speed cassette on top that will not fit a 6 speed freehub body unless you start ripping a few cogs off it. If you do that you will want to use a 9 speed chain

I really like my Totem Coils. They started of as air ( 2 old step did not work ) and where converted to coil so in the end the same I guess. Even down to there quick lubricating ports are brilliant. The hi and lo speed compression adjust is nice and the platform is really good for puddling up the hills. Only real problem is that when the platform is on the adjust pops up and would hit the down tube on my Patriot if I fell off and the bars span round. So I just have to be positive to put it back down before I start doing anything to daft.

TJ, The way he told it to me was that some one had been riding though the woods and crashed in to a new drainage ditch they had dug a few days before. He was going on about they had claimed there was not adequate warning or some such. The other one he said happened before that and some one had fallen on to a barbedwire fence and ripped some kit or some such. I believe he just managed the forest on behalf forestry commission and not strictly the owner. So I guess it would be listed under the company name? I have known him for many years so just took it as fact. All the others I have seen outside of the UK most notable is big bear.

He could be telling me porkies but I don't see why he would. I suspect that even the threat of being sued would probably get the same reaction from most land owners though. I have been searching after he told me and have found other incidences of similar things happening but to be fair they all tend to be from over seas.

If you cant perhaps give a Totem a try? I defiantly prefer them to the current 36s

Yes you can fit a coil but many of the Giants where mad for the small air can. If you fit a large air can or coil it will tend to blow though the travel. Though you can fit a picky back shock with air assist that can help. A few people have done rising rate springs as well but not seen one for some time.

Possible knocked something out of alignment or cable has simply betted in and is to slack to get you all the way to the big? Probably best to pop in to your local bike shop if your not confident with setting up the gears.

How about Chamonix? I like to stay here http://www.iceandorange.com/ I know there are plenty of places to dump your kids in the winter but not 100% in the summer, I did see this though http://www.chamonix.net/english/activities/children.htm plenty on there even for the younger kids. This may also be worth a look at http://www.chamonix-chalet.co.uk/summer.htm

If you just want the bush its a standard Fox ½ inch bush. Have not a clue what it works out at in new money but if you ask them for a Fox fit bush they will know strait away what your talking about.

Edit: Also if your talking about the mounting hardware is the with of the gap and the through bolt size. For example on my Orange is 22mm wide gap and uses a 8mm bolt. Bolts are normally 6 or 8 mm depending on the bike.

As people have said all depends on how fit the person is. If they have a good general fitness then there is a good chance they will still be able to do it. If there a beer monster then odds are against. Try taking them out on a ride before the date and just see how able they are. You can always arrange to join up with them part way round a ride. That way then can still feel part of the group but wont be slowing every one down. Generally at the top of a big hill is a good place to join up.

There is not one. You have to dismantle to pod to change the cable. You unscrew the big screw thing on the top of the pod and the hole top comes off. Just be careful as you can end up with angry springs attacking you. The full manual can be had from there website.

There is a time and place for air but my general preference is defiantly coil. I had air Totems but there now converted to coil. Coils are reliable, give great sensitivity and most importantly for me consistent.

The race face cranks do tend to get a lot of problems. There normally fine the first time if fitted properly but every time you refit them they tend to not fit quite so well. Eventually getting to the point where you will tighten them all the way up and they will still have play. Or if you have gone any significant distance with a loose crank that tends to kill then strait away. I have seen people use spacers take up the play as people have mentioned on here but this results in side loading the BB that will result in its premature failure. If this is what your cranks are doing I would talk to RF as its a prevalent issue that they appear quite slow at addressing.

If its a basic time charger you will have to know the capacity of your cells and the charge rate to calculate the correct charge time. Or is it a delta peak charger? Though if your only using a 12V charger that could throw a spanner in the works as the battery you have made are actually 14.4V and not 12V. Some chargers can be very picky on voltage some are not so much. If you post up a few photos of the labels on your original betterys, charger and your new batteries I could tell you a lot more.

Little confused as to how you have then wired in it should go “ + batter – + hatter – “ then the + and the – from the end should go strait to your bulb. Most cheap hobby chargers will not charge 12V so just be positive yours can. Also is a definatly a NiCd charger as its old tec. If its a time charger you will have to calculate the correct charge time. NiCd are really old school so they may be really old. If so you will have to cycle them a few times to get any life out of them. Also have you got the charger plugged in correctly as its relatively easily to get it wrong? If you stick up some photos of all you kit I can tell you more.

There is normally import duty, value added tax and custom handling charge. Depending how much its cost you to post you will likely not have to pay duty. Though if customs get hold of it you will still have to pay regular value added tax and customs handling. All depends on the over all cost and postage charge though. At a very ruff guess a extra £20 or £30 if customs get hold of it.

Have had all sorts of problems with Formula brakes my self and was thinking V2 as well. If there anything at all like the old M6 I had from Hope they will be brilliant.

You are correct Taff 3” maximum blade and the knife has to be a none locking folding knife. Fixed blades, spring knives, locking knives and throwing knives are all illegal to carry. Its also illegal to use it as a weapon. Even the threat of using it as a weapon is illegal.

Used to but had all sorts of little niggles with it so now only do it to get home and then rip it out and replace with a new tube. It's made cycling a hole lot more enjoyable and practical for me by simple replacing them. If you shop about you can get tubes in bulk for relatively little.

Don't really know the bike in question all that well but most of the DT hubs you just take the ends off and you can see the bearings with the code printed on them.

If he does not get back to you with a postage cost then don't bid. If you do and you don't like the postage cost you only have your self to blame. Don't forget you will likely have to pay import duty, VAT and customs handling charge at your end to get the bike though customs. Even used bikes and parts there of are liable for this. I have had to pay it a few times but then a got the odd one with out having to pay. Bit hit or miss really.

If you did not get a clean cut the end of the tube may be crushed in and getting in the way. Have a look and see. You can always cut it down just a little to clear it or use something pointy to open it up again if that's the problem.

Love the Hope M4s also loved my old M6s. I really should grab some V2 when I get some more cash. Also love the Hope 4 and 2 LED lights. There headsets, bottom brackets, hubs, quick release and stems are all great too. There new seatposts looks nice too but not tried one yet.

Thought it was intended for forks with 140 to 160 mm of travel ? If not agree with Jam Bo the Totems are brilliant! I have the original Coil model that I use for everything and there still going strong. Simple to freshen up as well with the oil ports on the bottom back of the legs.

If your going used I think Messiah is on to something. The Manitous are great forks and sell for next to nothing. You can give them a over hall your self if your technical sort of person if not send them of and get them freshened up. Just be on the lookout for warn slider as if the anodizing / hard coat has warn away its not a easy or cheap fix.

Over taking was always the problem for me as you could not see unless you where a long way back. But then it was a 2 cylinder fiat 126 that could only just get over 100kph if you where very lucky.

I have seen quite a few with alloy nipples stock to them. Its a bad combination if your looking for long a life from your wheels.

Ah sorry I may have read your first post wrong. I thought you where looking for a 30.9mm shim but could only find a 30.0mm. If you have found a 30.8mm shim it may fit. Traditionally frame and seat post where worked in imperial and many American ones still are. The small variations are often just rounding out in the conversion to metric.

Weight mostly I would guess. A lost of people use MTB style peddles and shoes on road bikes if they plan on walking about a lot.

All the Rock Shox Lyrik or Domain are very good these days however I would go for the Magura Wotan I think. Don't know if they come in 1.5 though.

.9 off the diameter is actually quite a lot. Its almost a full mm out and you would have to be deforming your seat tube to get it tight.
