seriously any old gits learnt bmx?

Yep I’ve just bought one at the age of 38, spent all summer sitting in the skatepark with the boy (he’s only 7), so thought I may as well join them. I found that MTB wheels don’t last too long jumping over the box :-(

    Here’s a 15 yr old showing how it’s done 8O

Might sound daft but background noise, my boy was similar when new born, one night I put a radio in the room, problem solved almost instantly, no idea why. He still insists on the radio to this day and he’s 7 now. Also worth checking if she’s too hot/cold, that makes anyone grumpy.

“Honestly, I am disgusted, ” said Irene Rider, 59, from Gary, Indiana. “I was with my grandchildren. We had just gotten off the bus. I said ‘look everybody’ and pointed up to the lights – but you know what the lights said? They said **** off. And that is not an appropriate message for a child. At least not at Christmas time.”

They are only a distributor for most of those brands. Michelin for example can be bought from many other wholesalers, and only cycle related products of course.

Owning and distributing are completely different.

On one for bike of the decade? A steel tubed heavy traditional frame?

    Are you serious?

Agreed, better than suggesting a steel piped gate bike of the decade.

    Not since I was 7, which isn’t bad considering I’m 38 now.

    Holy thread resurrection Batman!

GTs can’t be that uncool as they sell more than all the niche brands put together in the UK, they do well in the sub £1k bracket, we sell loads every year.

I drives from Halfords were the very early versions, they just had a licence to build certain models, not the latest generation. The main reason Dorel (GTs new owners, who also own Charge, Cannondale, Mongoose and others) wanted to stop erosion of the GT brand in the lower end of the market.

It the feet getting cold that causes it, once you get chilblains they usually return most winters I’m afraid.
I’ve suffered for a few years now, as above some sudocream or similar just to stop any infections appearing (more painful than you can imagine) and most importantly KEEP YOUR FEET WARM. So thermal socks, maybe even two pairs of socks, I’ve lambswool shoe insoles work a treat as well.
If you do get cold feet let them warm up gradually. Don’t bother with the creams in the chemist, they do nothing.

It would be cheaper to buy a PS3.

I would say around £800 minimum if he wants to play the likes of COD, GTA etc. Just bought an AMD 1090T overclocked with a GTX470, and already I’m thinking it’s still not quite enough.

Trouble is as soon as it’s delivered it’s out of date.
Saying that I saw COD on the nephews Xbox earlier and it looked rubbish compared to the PC version.

Does the lease metion it is fully managed or not? If yes then go back to the letting agent, they are the ones responsible, they are the ones who you have a contract with.
Normally I would never suggest witholding rent but in this instance I would.

My Civic type r was a handful in the snow. Little torque, so no clutch only starts, big wide 18″s, not a good combination.

Well if it’s any consolation I bought a sledge last Wednesday and it STILL hasn’t snowed here, this must be the only place in the UK without snow

.Tesco do nothing wrong if people didn’t shop at a Tesco they would not keep building them

This. I for one do not have time to go to a greengrocer, a butcher, a fishmonger.

All councils are currently selling off assets as alot have some serious funding shortfalls due to cutbacks. I nearly managed to buy some land for a pound recently.

The key to good cables is maintenence. Get some lube in them every few rides and it doesn’t really matter what cables you have.

And yes SP41 outer is XTR without the fancy rubber sealed end caps, although you can buy them separately.

If it’s a VTEC I shouldn’t worry as it’ll burn that off in no time. Mine used to burn through a litre a month, and no there wasn’t any leaks, it’s the nature of the engine. Lots of revs = high oil usage.

My advice, rag the crap out of it.

It’s laughable to think that some people seem to want to blame the current governments policies for putting us back into recession.

What happened in the the decade before the credit crunch, were we prudently putting away money for a rainy day? Paying a reasonable price for a house? Not buying a new car every 3 years on credit?

It’s easy to point the finger at the government, the reality is we all put ourselves in this position by believing that growth could never cease and that houses would continually shite money.

I’m not old but I do remember the recession of the early nineties, how dod everyone else forget?

As for house prices, I would say no real increases for close to a decade now.

I’ve just got an AMD 1090T, pretty impressive for the money. Best value hex core processor would have to be the AMD 1055T currently, nothing gets near it for the price.

However, DO NOT BUY FROM MESH.

They will delay your order, my order took 6 weeks! No communication what so ever, huge times of waiting on the phone (calls which you are paying for) and clueless and unhelpful service advisors.

I spent 2 weeks demanding a refund as they couldn’t deliver after 30 days and still couldn’t give me a delivery time. They ignored every email I sent them, then they finally sent the pc out.

When it was delivered I had no windows product key! It expires tomorrow so I have had to shell out nearly a ton to buy a new copy of windows.

Is now the time to tell you the easy why of aligning the caliper?

Just loosen the caliper bolts, then hold the brake on and do the bolts up whilst still holding on the brake.
Usually results in a perfectly aligned caliper.

Sorry for not telling you that 2 hours ago :-)

    What cables were they then?

As for you can’t make an offer then charge inflated prices, well yes you can, however you can choose to go elsewhere.

To put in into context the UKs deficit (the amount of money we borrow) was £10.4 bn alone in October.

So in the grand scheme of things it’s just a token gesture.

You will need a different rear mech, the 9 spd one won’t work.

As for chainrings, TA do some good ones in the kind of sizes you are looking for.

I wouldn’t even look at SRAM double chainsets, the prices are ridicolous!

So you need shifters, chain, mech and 2 chainrings, you might just squeeze that in for £200, I doubt it though.

Similar to me, late 30s, been living on my own for about 4 years now. It’s ace.

No nagging, chores, ride when you want, and have a spaff whenever you feel like

Like you I lived with my parents until I was 19, then I’ve pretty much lived with a partner until I split up with my last ex.

Make the most of it, I’m not planning on staying alone forever though.

Yeah I had similar with my previous landlord, I turned up to view, took the property on no problems. Then the landlord found out that my son stays 2-3 nights a week then he gets the cob on.
He never asked or stated no kids nor was it in the letting agreement. He then send an amendment, to which I told him to chuff off.

As I see it people with kids are normally far more responsible than blokes without kids, I remember my bachelor days of zero housework.

As above though, his flat, his rules.
