Honda for sure. Had a 98 Civic VTi, other than the clutch going around 120,000 it never went wrong, even the original exhaust.
I miss that car, I really enjoyed thrashing that every day.
Hondas of late 90’s ilk are regarded as some of the most reliable cars they ever made.

Whoever metioned Aheadset is pretty spot on IMO.
I remember days of threaded forks and headsets that had to be tightened every week. A right pain in the arse.
Don’t even get me started on having to cut thread in a few inches of steerer.

Has to be GPS for me, as I am a man with no sense of direction.

Most of my rides are time limited so knowing where I am and how to get home via the quickest route is invaluable to me.

Discovering new trails is so much easier.

I expect Mr O’leary is more concerned about paying compensation due to cancelled flights/delays. My boss is still waiting for his compensation from them from the last ash cloud over a year ago!

TJ is correct, it’s probably XTR M950 series, blueish grey cranks arms.

I’d steer clear, the BBs are next to impossible to buy now, certainly not listed at Madison.

They were about £50 or so IIRC.

So were you working for an employer at the time? You could have technically have stolen from your ex employer

Seriously though, some people here need to get off their mighty high horses. If it was me I’d just sell it on anyhow.

I’ve just got a Sony Ericsson Arc which is awesome.Comes with gingerbread as standard. According to reviews better than the Jesus phone, although Jesus phone users would disagree.

£30 a mth for 18 months with unlimited texts,900 minutes and 500mb of data from Vodafone.

I’d go 26/38 with a 34T out back, but then I am more of an XC rider, don’t like the large gaps in 11-36 cassettes.

Clearence should be fine on the orange, you get the BB spcers to adjust the chainline anyhow.

You know these chainsets aren’t available until Aug?

Sorry no, the last phone number when he still had his website was a mobile. What address did you have, might be able to find something from that.

He operates from a shed/house. Always keen to sell but not so keen to sort out warranty or returns.
I know this because he sends his customers to our shop to sort out warranties, even though we are NOTHING to do with him.
DJ cycles closed down years ago FWIW.

Specialized and other companies doing this are likely to be operating with restrictive trade practises which in theory could result in mega bucks fines.

That’s utter crap, of course a wholesaler can decide who they do and don’t supply. It’s hardly restictive, there are Specialized dealers everywhere.

and I was surprised at the shop’s change of heart when they discovered I didn’t buy the bike from them, despite pointing out that I’d bought my previous two bikes from them

Specialized will need to see a receipt to honour the warranty, to make sure that you are the original owner. Not really sure what your beef is here, as above take it up with Halfords.

Probably because dispite being a grown man I have the body of a 12 year old boy :-(

Seriously though I’m 38, who looks after my child 3 days a week as well as a full time job so get very little time to socialise or get out and meet women. My spare time is spent riding.
Yes I feel lonely at times but I made my choices in life so not complaining.

Also when you get to your mid thirties women of a similar age who are single, fit and sane are all taken already.

She decided she wasn’t happy with her lot, and wanted ‘more’ from life.

Exactly how my last ex left me, used to complain of not having much money, (owned our own house, 2 hols a year etc.) or would moan when I worked more hours because she would see me less. Now she’s with some unemployed loser. I just don’t get women sometimes, maybe it’s all these mags putting ideas in their heads that they should all be married to millionaire Brad Pitt lookalikes.

Many of the roads around Salisbury Plain at night. With NV on….

Was done by a couple of squaddies a few years ago, needless to say they got caught.

B3081 from Cann Common to Tollard Royal, a series of switchback bends on the side of a hill, officially the bendiest road in the UK, an absolute beast to ride up as well.

I don’t wish to ruin your hols HTS but Weymouth is currently ruined by massive roadworks and gearing up for the Olympics, sitting on the beach during the bank hols listening to the sound of pneumatic drills all day was delightful

As for Salcombe, cost me a fortune there last year, the boy had to go on the sea tractor everyday. Popping down there for the weekend soon. (my boy wants to go back to the best sweet shop in the world eva)

Off to North Devon for the week for the beach holiday then Wales for the biking holiday.

Another Charge Duster fan here too, just about to buy a second one, the new skinny version. None of this slack head angle nonsense, a classic sharp handling steel HT. I’ve chopped and changed the spec over a couple of years, it’s as happy on an all day XC ride as it is blasting through singletrack. Survived quite few stacks, only thing I would say against it is the paint job is a bit rubbish.

    <inserts obligatory pic of bike>

What about the Quad mount below? ONLY works with cup and cone hubs though, as long as the dropoouts are near horizontal then it works, fitted a few in the workshop.*

*I CBA to read the whole thread so sorry if it’s already been mentioned.

Would any of us want a police officer who’d been convicted of corruption look after your case?

If he was trying to convict me, then yes

The only time I have spent in hospital in the last decade was with my son in a childrens ward, not a rotund nurse in sight, in fact they were all fit as.

You’re probably thinking “People p*ss in wetsuits, I’m not sure about a second hand wetsuit”, but believe it or not I have NEVER urinated in this suit, seriously, these suits are too good to be doing such a vulgar act in, the wee just ends up staying in the suit and then when you’re sat having a post-surf pint in the pub you smell awful and girls don’t like boys that smell of p*ss so you just sit there, alone all night, sobbing into your pint of Betty Stoggs like a lonely desperate p*ss smelling man.

I’ve included a picture of a bear using a urinal, this is how I normally use the toilet, notice that the animal is not wearing a wetsuit. Although I am not a bear, I, like a bear, do not p*ss in wetsuits.

It’s all aero now, a modern F1 car would literally run rings round a 20 year old one. Although I’d like to see a current car with 1000+ bhp, imagine the lap times.

Thing that I really don’t like about modern F1 are all the gadgets, glad to see TC and ABS has gone, should be about the driver, sure technology should make a car faster, look at the vid below, mesmorising speed, can’t see many current F1 drivers doing the same, one handed gear changes round the corners and no power steering!

I am, personally, pro-helmet, for some personal reasons. However, I’d rather see kids riding to school without them, than driven half a mile in a mummy wagon or chelsea tractor.

    +1

I’m with TJ (sort of) on helmets, it should be entirely a personal choice. My lad often goes out in the field next door without his helmet, he only ever seems to come back covered in mud with a big grin on his face, no major head injuries yet. However in the skatepark it’s always helmets and pads.

Agree with reflective vests too, brilliant things on the road.
