Same old thing every year, more plastic tat to shift.

These lists are compiled by retailers and wholesalers, so I’m guessing they have alot of those ten items to shift. As always they will be way off the mark and you will be able to buy the doggy doo game for tuppence after Xmas.

Micro scooters and tablets will be in demand the most.

My sister once asked for ‘a black and white printer cartridge’

Surprisingly they didn’t have any in stock

Ahh Winstanleys, there’s the hold up right there.

My mate had shocking service from them some months ago now.

Back to 3×10 here too. Was 26/38 with 11/34 out back, just seemed to be changing gear more, top gear too low for fireroads. Tried 26/40 and hated the huge gap between the front chainrings.

I also went to Ikea and bought this one[/url].

Lots of room, fairly solid real wood, the shelf at the back is handy for speakers/modem/tissues. Tall enough to sit under properly.

Had an ARC for a few months now, generally very good and a massive step on from my satio before.

However 2 annoying issues for me are no zoom on 8mp camera mode, no zoom on video and an annoying ‘spike/glitch’ every minute on video recording.

Not sure you could get the same BMX for similar money new.

Looks pretty good to me, the WTP Reason was £339 new, the rear Profile hub costs about £140, the front hub £50, rims £40 each.

As long as it’s all straight and true I’d say that’s quite a bargain.

Bet good money you would be able to go faster in the trainers than you would in the De Lorean though.

I got a set of TSG kids guards for my lad, just fit him but he’s a waif of a boy for an 8 year old. £40 for a set of elbow and knee/shin combo set.

Yeah sadly it’s just too high a price for used. A quick google shows that you can buy one new for under £2k, most being discounted to £2.4k.

    See Here

Maybe see how much you can get for all the parts if you split it?

Not sure some of the games above are underrated!

    Boulderdash is a good call.

My current fav which is more down with the kids than the middle aged posse is Minecraft, no point to the game but utterly addictive.

Forty seven baby and two adult pipistrelle bats have been found dumped in a box in Wiltshire, the RSPCA said.

The protected bats were discovered in a box at the side of a polo pitch at Perham Down near Tidworth on Wednesday.

Two females bats, one with a fractured wing, and 47 babies were taken to the Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital.

Never even thought about it TBH. Think I only saw about 6 people on tonights ride, and 2 of them had guns, they just gave us a cheery Hello!

Guess things are different in the West Wilts ‘bronx’.

I would say not a JD bug, very uncool for a 14 year old, look for Mad Gear Pro (MGP) or Gritt.

Things he won’t want are folding bars, and carry straps.

Things he will want are threadless headsets, cro mo bars and ABEC 7 bearings.

    Looking about £130 or so.

We sell loads of GT bikes, as do many dealers, not many above £500 though.

Mostly budget hardtails and a few hybrids and the occasional BMX.

I for one am glad that Halfords no longer sell them, just caused too much confusion for the consumer.

The Distortion is top of my wanted bike list ATM for sure.

I go for the tweezers option.

Reasonable cranks if you can get them cheapish below RRP.

As above the chainrings are an odd size.

Personally I couldn’t use any as my OCD wouldn’t alllow me to use uneven tooth numbers.

Gt Distortion, no question. Had a demo one for a few weeks, was awesome.

Complete bikes only though and not many left for the year.

2011 Rize (RZ120) has altered geometry, is now classed as a trail bike, slacker head angles this year, although completes only again.

I usually hand out hefty bills after changing pivot bearings, don’t like to but some can be a PITA.
Did a Cove Hustler earlier in the week, took over an hour just to get the pivot near the BB shell sorted, had to borrow a hydraulic press from a local garage to get them out in the end.
Think the labour was £70 in total, pretty fair for nearly 3 hours work.
Trouble is we only get bearing swaps in when the are knackered/rusted into the frame.

Sounds reasonable to me, I got quoted £600 to have one on my Honda.

Begrudingly took it in to be fitted only to be called later to say that I couldn’t even fit a tow bar to my car as it would invalidate my warranty!

Taxation is indeed a good thing, it was the Tories in the Eighties who branded it bad. I for one would happily pay more tax if it was well spent and improved society as a whole.

Sadly the Greeks are screwed either way, default or no default.

What gets me about the Euro scenario the most is that suddenly everyone is suprised about the current issues, surely the idea of the Euro was to help the poorer nations. Subsidize the wealth from the richer nations to help a greater Euro was the plan.

Otherwise what was the point of the Euro?

’91 Specialized Epic Ultimate, carbon tubes bonded into titanium lugs.
Selling that was a crime  I waiting over 9 months for it to be delivered only to keep it for 18 months.

Not yet, I’ve not long bought an RZ120, so saving some more pennies for a while as I want the 1.0, and it’s quite a few quid. Sadly the RZ 120 will have to go to fund it as well.

The Dale 120 is nice and climbs better but the Distortion is soo much better going down. Having a fairly low BB is the key I think.

Poddy is the worlds biggest MPG geek, I just knew he would post

As above sell it privately, you’ll definetaly get more back that way.

I dream of getting 32 MPG, maybe a different driving style? Petrols need to be driven very differently from diesels.

There was a guy who used to strip them down to parts and make sculptures out of them, can’t find him on the web now though. If the Elfin needs parts I’ve got just about every part available. Including super rare 4 speed parts.

Sadly it’s no longer viable to rebuild them in the shop the labour is just too much, cheaper to buy a complete new internal now.

No, not oil on the chain, look in the middle of the hub, there’s an oil port there. Also while you’re there look for the date, it will tell you how old it is!

Don’t worry about reviews, if you can get a test ride, take it.

I’ve had a demo one for a week, I came away highly impressed. It’s not usually my sort of bike, more of an XC man.

Just seems to have more travel on the downy bits than it really has, goes uphill ok too for a hardcore bouncer.

Ball joint remover, a quick few smacks with the biggest hammer you have and it will fly off, Might damage the cranks in the process mind, although I wouldn’t be refitting them if it was me.

Sticky pawls or worn clutch? I’d look at those first. Could just try opening up the oil port and chucking lots of oil in.

I would immediately would submit a paypal ‘item not as described’ issue.
It’s just within the magic 45 days allowed. Paypal will be on your side, they always rightly or wrongly support the buyer.

Current bike, got a new skinny Duster frame but haven’t got round to changing it yet.

Might be investing in one of these when they are available (no comments on the angles, it’s a prototype)

Regardless of who is right or wrong, neither the consumer or retailer has the decision. Ultimately that is down to the judge on the day who is enforcing the law. He will listen to both parties and make a decision from that. The varibles consumer law cover are huge, it can be interpreted in different ways by different judges.

As for the OP, I’d say a refund is highly unlikely, have the forks ever been serviced in accordance with the manual?
