    UPDATE

I emailed Longleat with no response so far.

However, this weekend Longleat have removed all of the route 24/25 Sustrans signs from the estate.

Don’t want to say for now, would like to hear their own response for now.

Interesting info. My bike was forcibly removed from me put in the back of their van and I was asked to go with them so they could escort me off the property.

Mostly because Madison only sell the right hand or pairs of shifters.

Raleigh sell individual LH SLX shifters but no stock until 2nd April!

Had loaner Renault Laguna DCi, was the 1.5 version, could only manage 34mpg average with that! Worst turbo lag and engine ever too.

Roadie bar tape, not difficult in itself but my OCD gets in the way by insisting the wraps should be equal in size and angle.

Would hora like to remind us what he does for a living?

The point is if you have a bricks and mortar shop and you price at online prices it would not be financially viable unless your turnover was huge. (£millions)

He also forgot rates, which is often the biggest killer on the highstreet.

If you dont waant to buy from your LBS thats fine just stop coming on here bleating about how expensive they are as if they are pesonally trying to rip you off. It just shows you lack of understanding.

Good Lord! Some intelligence at last, internet retailers work on volume/lower overheads, it’s simply not possible to price match this in the high street. If all LBS went to CRC pricing most of them would be closed within months!

Also why would you want to sell something cheap when the vast majority of customers are happy to pay RRP? There are alot more cyclists in the world other than the niche mongers on here.

I would believe this figure if all private sector workers were on strike.

I’d be wary if it was me. My parents own a 200 yr old grade 2 listed and it’s cost them a few quid over the years.

The sash windows on the first floor needed replacing as the frames were very rotten and there was more filler than wood. They were aware they would have to fit the same in appearance, but were told by the LA that they have to fit 2mm glass as per the original due to it’s reflective qualities ( I kid you not).

So balls to energy efficiency, so long as it looks nice! Oh and £8k for 4 wondows.

Might end up with an ITR now, VTEC YO

Do it! Quick, a bit thirsty but super reliable. Awesome engine and handling too.

What this really should be about is not dragging down public pensions/pay closer to private sectors, but increasing pensions/pay for the private sector.

Of course those lovely tax paying (or non tax paying coporations) wouldn’t like that much.

The school now has an obligation to tell the LA and mark it as unauthorised absence. Took my son out of school 3 days early to go on hols. Didn’t get arrested and put with ‘Bubba’ in the showers though.

Sounds like a daft landlord to me, could be an empty property for years now, there’s quite a few empty round there already. We moved recently and negotiated 40% off of the asking price. Surely if trade was still brisk they would have relocated?

The story I was told was that they simply weren’t making money.

My experience of them when I popped in last year was not good, wanted a pucture kit and a tube, they didn’t have them in stock. Took them a few minutes to even notice I was there.

PS3 is what my lad is after, would be my choice too, but I’m strictly a PC man.

Got a PS3 160gb from Sainsburys, £199.99 with choice of 2 games from Battlefield 3, Fifa 12, Lego Pirates of Carribean. In store only though.

    Also an LBS bloke here.

As stated already the vast majority here are keen bikers, a very small percentage of overall riders.

We target £300 to £1000 in bike sales, doing alright so far this year so must be doing something right.

Servicing and essential spares is hwere it’s at as well, lots of disc pads, gloves, the smaller stuff.

As for demo bikes, they are a waste of time, occasionally get some in, but often they get the demo from us and buy it cheaper online.

Seems very obvious this year, particulary with kids bikes they want to use us to ‘size up’ their kids then go buy elsewhere. In other industries this would be ‘consultation’ as charged accordingly.

At the same time I understand the need to get a bargain or save money.

It’s a case of working out who you can turn into long term customers, and who is wasting your time.

Yes we’re on Facebook now and trying to offer better deals for regulars.

Strated off roading in ’88. On an MBK (french I think) MTB.

Became a coporate whore which killed my riding, broke down 3 years later.

Got back on the bike and have been sane ever since :-)

    Some good suggestions above.

Getting them to make/prepare meals with you is a very good idea. It’s fun for them, but most importantly they can see what is going into their meals.

Bear in mind it can take a child up to 12 goes at trying new foods to get used to new flavours. Just keep trying.

Make meal times as fun as possible, lots of praise for eating what they do, try and stay clear of being negative.

Also worth mentioning you should be eating the same foods as them, not point telling them to eat something if they don’t see you eat it first.

All this from experience, my boy used to live with mum and a diet of fast food, now 4 months on spag bol, all veg (except sprouts) curry, even chilli, put on 6 lbs in that time too.

    Do you have worms?

Some of us are just born thin, eat plenty, still 60kgs, same weight when I was 16.

P.S. Looks as though you are just about to have a fall in your pic, or you’re going very slowly fat boy

I’ve been trying to buy, loads of offers rejected, I’ll keep putting them in though. Give it another year or so hopefully sellers will become more realistic!

The reality is house prices won’t go up for a decade, wages are lagging behind inflation, houses have to get cheaper as we have less disposable income.

If it was me I’d be looking to offer them lower or the same in a couple of months time.

Quoted as being 30 mbps so happy with that. Still doesn’t seem fast enough at times.
