IIRC schools are now obliged to tell their LA, it is no longer at the schools discretion.

That’s what we have been informed of in writing at our sons school.

It is fairly costly but it’s totally mess free and you will get a perfect bleed every time with this kit.

Make sure you put genuine Shimano oil in there.

Oh wait it apears to have the wrong description, dunno then. Bought one years ago and can’t remember. :?

People who live in the same cul-de-sac demonstrated outside Mr Edwards’ house with placards claiming his business is affecting the prices of their property.

Clearly none of them have managed to grasp the fact that house prices are falling everywhere, I guess they are too busy peering into their neighbours windows to watch the news or read a paper.

    It’s a bit of both.

However most manufacturers now state on the box they are shipped in words to the effect that the warranty is void unless fully assembled by an official dealer.

Stops third parties obtaining products and ruining the reputation the brand name through poor service.

Agreed TS can’t make sjs sell at that price, however,

    Offences

If the seller is in business (rather than a private seller), he may have committed a criminal offence if he:

    advertises a misleading price;

That’s the way I see it.

Anybody who thinks bike shops are taking the piss we don’t like this as much as you, the scale of the rises was never revealed to us, if I had known I would have ploughed some money into Shimano stock.

Margins on some Shimano have been reduced even though the retail has risen dramatically.

There will still be alot of shops with old stock kicking around, that would explain the price difference.

Back to the OP however it seems to me that the chainset has just risen in price, I personally think this is taking the mick somewhat, I’d suggest speaking to trading standards.

What length crank do you need?

Might be able to improve on that price.

I’ll get the tech specs out tomorrow at work and see if it will fit.

Yep still spending, however I don’t have a mortgage or debts.

Just bought a new big **** off TV, new forks to escape the price rises, and next up is a car, gonna wait until I have some more saved though.

There’s good deals around if you have the cash, or at least that’s how I justify my spending.

You don’t want to know the price of the XT rings, I’ve just had a look 8O

Longest lasting chainrings are easily TA, about £25 ish for a middle size.

    Ask who?

The raw material cost makes pretty much piss all difference to the retail cost of parts, it’s the manufacture process that costs, and of course all the men in the middle. Oh and currencies in our global world.

For me it has to be bar tape on drop bars, I’d rather cut thread onto forks for an hour (thankgod for aheadset)

Or building 48 spoke BMX wheels, it’s like it’s never going to end :|

I have to say that I like Charge products, although maybe I’m biased as I sell them and the company is local to me, I get the feeling they aren’t in it for the money. Sure profit has to be made but these guys do genuinely enjoy biking and do good things for the local community.

So Nick, any chance you could make a duster frame to accomodate longer travel forks?
My Revs really need to be wound back out to 140mm

Well you’re not alone, I’m seriously thinking of putting £500 that way.
Yes it is a gamble, but if it pays off it could produce a fairly serious amount of cash.

Orange hard tails are made in the far east anyway. Think this was done in MBUK some years ago and realised it just wasn’t possible. Do X Lite still make stuff here?

Gusset Slim Jims are my choice, sealed bearings, nice thin cage for a smidge more ground clearance and available in some cool colours.
Sell loads in the shop without one single return. About £35 notes or less if you look around.

Well I’m an african grey owner, if a dog did that to mine I’d be furious.

My little Sukie is 13 years old now and still a youngster, parrots have real charater, one is often very different from another, even in same breeds.

You are going to be looking at £1500 plus for a good quailty hand reared bird.

Shimano Airlines, never available to buy, worked ok but cost too much for production.

New Dura Ace Electronic shifting very very expensive.

I use finish line polish on the frame and rims, wouldn’t recommend putting it on the rims if you’re running rim brakes though.
Apparently it sticks to bikes/cars as they now use a mix with molasses to stop it being washed off the road.
