Usually 1 or 2 each year, depends on the latest fads

However this year I have 3 in mind, saying that I’m in the trade so it really doesn’t cost that much as alot of the cost is recovered each year from resale.

It’s a crying shame that Kubica is still not in F1, he’s the man for the second Ferrari seat.

As for Vettel, still not convinced, sure he has the speed, but the racecraft?

I’d rather Ferrari went for one of the young guns and stuck with Alonso.

I notice elzorillo also fails to mention if you work full time (i.e.) over 30 hrs per week) you get a higher rate award. If you’re on £15k a year you will not get all your rent paid, maybe some of it, and you will pay full rate of council tax.

    I know, I’ve been there.

It’s amazing how seemingly even well educated folk can believe Tory propoganda if they are told it enough times.

Living on benefits for the majority is miserable, I once had to work part time due to becoming a single parent, it’s survival, not living.
You are, and always were better off by working.

The tories among you will be pleased to hear it was only for a short time and I am now taxed to the hilt :D

None of the above, you are obliged to pay VAT @17.5% and import duty @16% normally. You’ve been lucky enough to get away with it before.

You should direct your anger at the fact wages are so low rather than think benefits aretoo high

This needs to be applauded, it’s fact that you can’t live off minimum wage in this country now. Someone who works full time but doesn’t get paid enough to cover his/her living costs reminds me of victorian Britain.

So while lots of people only get minimum wage their employers are making tons of profits, surely those employers are effectively being subsidised indirectly by the government?

Anyhow, don’t fret, as housing associations are now only paying rent directly to the claimant and not the landlord anymore there will soon be lots of homeless people and free houses as they spend it on booze, fags and big TV’s instead of paying their rent

My experience of finding a burglar in my house is limited to just the one occasion.

Caught a burglar in the kitchen after coming back from the pub, picked up a kitchen chair, smashed it over said burglars head, maybe kicked him once or twice whilst he was down and then dragged him out into the back garden by his hoodie.

Anyhow when the police finally arrive, they seemed fairly unconcerned when I told them, in fact they seemed to be positively quite cheery about it all. They took a statement and left happy.
Turns out it was a prolific offender who was about to get some serious time.

I never gave the burglar time to leave, didn’t even cross my mind, I just wanted him out, my way. ( I was a bit drunk mind)

    I even got compensation :-)

EDIT: the point is 99.9% of burlagries are probably like this so it’s really non news.

Twisted/tight chain links would be the first thing to look for, sticky freehub? Could be one of many things tbh.

Ben Cooper is such a geek it makes me feel funny inside :D

I think Sheldon Brown sums it up best “29 Inch 622mm ISO This is a marketing term for wide (700c) tires”

So enjoy your road bikes off road lads

I’d like a Cannondale F29 carbon, only they aren’t selling any in Small in the UK, I mean really? So if you’re under 5’9″ you might as well forget buying one.

I would save that door, just been through this myself.
Had a new lift mechanism fitted and some new wood, about £300 all in.
Door fitter told me old doors are much more solid than newer sytle doors.
I ‘refurbished’ mine with a quick sand so it was mooth and sound and then sprayed white hammerite on, came up a treat.

Also had an EP3 here, fuel consumption once went down to 9 mpg on a late night run from the coast 8O

Front tyres every 6k miles too.

The car I miss the most out of all I have owned. Utterly reliable though, never any problems.

Sounds like a driveshaft to me, had that on a Ford, was told to ignore it until it started knocking when driving.

Does it do the same if you’re on full lock?

I’m quite liking my new Conti Mountain King 11’s, much faster than I expected given the tread pattern.

Didn’t like Crossmarks personally, super fast when dry but absolute rubbish when damp or even slightly muddy, just picks up mud and then doesn’t release it.

My younger Bro has a Focus RS, it’s chuffin’ rapid! Thirsty though.

I wish Honda still made a proper type R hatch, not the crap they are making now. Can get Jap spec imports 240bhp from a 2 litre NA engine and 9000 rpm. I miss my type R :(

Financially the Golf makes most sense, but then you may just as well buy a diesel if you’re thinking that way.

You are all a bunch of barstewards

Actually the humour has cooled me off somewhat.
New paint from homebase already, and the lady cheerily pointed out ‘I should be more careful next time ‘

    Anyhow head office next.

I’ll put some pics up later for your amusement.

The spacers that come off the back of roadie 10 speed cassettes are the same size, might be worth a look at your LBS see if they have any.

So what you are all saying is you want to pay peanuts for bike servicing, but you don’t want monkeys working on your bike right?

The cost the OP gave is about right for an LBS. * if it is nessecary to replace all those parts

Proper lolling at TJ the master mechanic too

I’ve had this kind of crap from insurance cos before, with cars too.

I’ve always ended up buying the replacement bikes from where I choose, doesn’t matter what they say, it’s your right.

Worth noting that if you get some brands from Halfords you will have no extended warranty on frames.

Yep scruff of the neck, tight too, you won’t hurt poor purdy as the skin is loose there.

Motorcycle gaunlets remind me of when I used to have parrots, which btw are as hard as nails.

I went for wall anchors in the garage combined with Kryptonite New York chain, a mere 7 kgs in weight!

Nothing beats physical security, also got a PIR light in the garage and a cheapo alarm from Ebay.

Parking your car right in front of the garage door helps too.

I bought an S Type a few years back, 1 owner, FSH, thought I was onto a bargain.

Turns out I was wrong, had an engine management fault after 3 months, turns out it needed a complete new exhaust system and cats. £1200 just for the parts 8O

    My advice, steer clear.
