I've had loads of bikes back with Turdativ cranks falling off for no apparent reason. Once it comes loose it will never stay on. No amount of ridiculous torque on the bolt will keep them on. Strangely they are never covered under warranty by the importer.

Buy a new crank arm or by some new cranks entirely if I were you.

I really couldn't bring myself to watch that posted link.
All I would like is my post delivered on time, preferably before I go to work. How is it still posible to get delays and lost mail in the 21st century with our vast transport network and computer driven systems?
I posted some pedals the other day to Scotland, all for £2.89 recorded delivery, it arrived next day, to me that was a bargain and I would happily pay more for that service. My lunch cost more than that!

I'd also like to thank the postie for not delivering my insurance certificate on time due to strikes as I couldn't tax my car without it.

The RM is aeons old now surely you should have mastered the art of a postal service by now.

As said, too hot for biking. My boss is currently buying a property there, it's 29 degrees there today.

Have I missed something? Do you have a bike shop or not?
This warranty/H&S angle is total total crap. It's price fixing.

Actually it's not, if I say, for example, I correctly assemble a mail order bike and it has a problem, say a part failure, I can be held responsible for it, even for the cost of replacing parts I did not supply. That is FACT as they say.

I now point blank refuse to work on new mail order bikes, the vast majority I see are BSO's anyhow. I'm not sure I agree with the policy of collection only though, if you wish to buy a bike mail order you should be free to do so. Some people are more than capable of assembling their own bike so should be given the choice of how they want to buy.

As he says, rest the centre of the hub in that gap, then smack firmly with a rubber mallet/wood, don't use a metal hammer as you may damage the end of the axle.

Sounds like the nonsense I was given when my son first started school. As above ask to see their school transport plan. We didn't even have bike sheds 18 months ago, fortunatley thanks to some pressure from me and some other parents we now do.

Next time you ride to school ask the teacher when they are accepting responsibility for your child, when you leave home or when you enter school? The school does not have the right to tell you how to commute to school.

    What he said.

I only have about 10 '09 mtbs left, imports of bikes were down around 10% this year so alot of shortages. Zaskar carbons were sold out months ago.

Your best bet is to trawl a few local shops to see if they have any to shift.

Also due to the fact that next years crop are going up in price there won't be the discounting that has happened in previous years.

Sadly most bikes spec for spec are going up in price next year. About 5% or so, 2010 is already in the shops in BMX world. Had a shed load today.

Same for me too, an increase of £300 this year dispite getting another years no claims. I just went elsewhere and saved a massive £380!

Would it be the AA by any chance?

An industry insider has revealed that the Fusion range of blades, which cost 5p ($0.08) each to manufacture, sell with a mark-up of more than 4,750 per cent.

Should work no problem, the maximum difference you can normally run between two chainrings is 16T.

Sounds like you have a similar body shape to mine, I took to lifting some weights. Seems to have evened things out a bit. Although having a sunken chest exagerates my belly. I found correcting my posture helped alot combined with strenghtening my back muscles and some sit ups helped alot.

Last time I had one that was really stuck I bodged an air cartridge onto the caliper. However there is a WARNING with this method, the piston will fly out at speed, I managed to embed one into the ceiling at work once!

Oh and get some disc brake cleaner in there before you move the pistons to remove any kak.

Forget about your insurance company handling the claim, go to someone like Helphire, I've used them twice now and they have twice sucessfully found in my favour. One had no witnesses either, was going to be pushed all the way to court and the third party declined to take it that far (it was her fault).

The only dwonside is that they use Vauxhalls as hire cars while yours is being fixed, so expect to have to drive a Vectra for a few weeks 8O

Yeah go to JL, I went to Dixons/Comet to buy a telly and they don't stock them! Well not the one I wanted, went to JL and they price matched with a smile and got a 5 year warranty as well. TBH I would have bought it even if they didn't price match as the assistant was very helpful in JL and it's worth it for the warranty alone. Dixons wanted something like £200 for the extended warranty.

Apparently they are selling them for no profit, I'd wager a tenner they don't conform to the new CEN standards so they have to be sold sharpish. I'm always cynical when supermarkets are apparently doing a 'good'

You do need to leave the outer bolt on though for the inner bolt to push against to remove the cranks. The outer should be a 10mm bolt. I take it the cranks are 2 piece with outboard bearings?

Are you trying to shift the outer or inner bolt? To remove them you need to undo the inner 8mm bolt, these are usually tighter than my boss. The best way I find is to stand on one of the pedals and use your other foot on the allen key. You will need at least a 6" long allen key.
Bear in mind the torque setting for tightening them is 50nm!

To me diesel and sports should not mix, imagine the scene, lovely countryside, flash topless car, then you pull up at a local for a refreshing drink, only the ambience is ruined by that lovely tractor sound

Sorry but sports cars should have a grumbly V8 or a mad revving 4 pot.

The most frustarting thing about diesels to me is the fact you just get going and the revs run out

Looks like they don't fit, the Noir uses a GXP BB, which has a larger internal diameter.

You can however handily buy some adaptors from Hope to get round this.
