No, it's one of those trick questions like you used to get at school, there is no right answer, just sit there and cross your arms looking smug.

The sensible answer is that why on earth would B and C contribute? The TV was there so they watched, what should they have done bought another of their own to watch? A was happy to leave it there for all to use so don't see the issue.

So far as I know they are only available with a triple spider at the moment, there are plans for SS of course. I'll make a call tomorrow and I'll post back on this thread. The spiders are specific to the new X type cranks.

Did the article not serve as a warning though?

Before you know it you will be lying down at 3am with your ample girth wedged between flimsy pieces of balsa wood.

I from now on will always be wary of people who smell of stale fruit and dairy products

The only vital thing that may be missing is a spare olive an insert if you need to shorten the hoses, although they cost about £2 each if you need them.

Sounds like you're using the wrong tool to me, you need the cassette tool with a rod on that has deeper splines.

    Like this..

Yep acts as a disc brake mount for frames without, doesn't fit all frames though. Fitted a few and they are a pain in the arse to fit, but work.

Yep the problem is the shifter, sram cheapo shifters have a long throw, shimano is much shorter.

Also worth putting on a 'top swing' front mech as it has less resistance the a conventional front mech.

If you went for shifters get SLX or above as the mounts can be adjusted on them, or try running the shifter outboard of the brake levers.

The only plus side of serve yourself tills is that steak can be weighed as potatoes

If it's any consolation my boy leaves for school pristine, before he's got in the gates his shirt is hanging out, tie crooked and trousers scuffing along the ground.

Those bookshelves bring back memories, get a gullible mate to hold some books up while you ping the elastic back on their hands

Shimano XTR all the way for me too, smoothest hubs on the planet. Also like the fact that the freehub is near silent. Not a fan of loud freehubs, also don't like the cost of putting new bearings in a Hope. I also like centrelock so that sways it for me.

The comments above about lack of grease should be less true now as Shimano put sleeves in the hub now which during assembly push the grease to the right areas, boring but true fact.

Oh seatclamp is 29.8mm but 30mm will do, see above comments.

Yep seatpost 27.2mm, although I put on a salsa QR clamp and it has to be done up tight to stop seatpost slipping. Not quite as springy on the rear end as I was expecting, but I'm never selling the frame on this. Paintwork is not the toughest, but it will get powder coated when it gets really scruffy.

'It's not road tax, it's Vehicle Excise Duty' should be on a T shirt, along with 'Haven't you got anything better to do?'

Yep what wwaswas said, I know someone who almost lost his job by selling his C2W bike, it's basically theft, it still belongs to your employer.

Cyclescheme is a lease, end of.

Tag a along for me too, bought an Adventure alloy one with gears, re built the rear wheel with a cassette hub and added a 9 speed drivetrain. Just found the standard gearing too high, put an 11-34 on it and now my son can finally help up the hills.

Would recommend plenty of mudguards and/or waterproof kit for the little one as they have to suffer all your mud/spray. Oh and a bike computer, when my lad gets bored he likes telling me how fast I'm going

According to my info not until Mid Oct, Mid Sept for the non platform type.

£99.99 is a pretty good price, I paid that for the very first SPDs nearly 20 years ago.

Try not to focus on solely the insurance group of a car, my younger sister first wanted a Clio, the weediest one of them all and the insurance was going to be £1400, with one years NCB.

However she bought a Ford Ka with a higher insurance group and it was only £900, the insurance is also based on the model of car, lots of teenagers have Clios and clearly they crash them lots.

Should be fairly standard 10mm cones, a chap in the far east called Mr. Quando pretty much makes any hub that doesn't have Shimano written on it. Try an LBS, take the old ones with you for a match up, Wheels Manufacturing make some high quality ones, about £5 each.

I'm still waiting for a refund for my cancelled flight when ash was big news. Passed it on to the CC company now.

For me though it's charges like £5 each way unless you have a really specific pre paid CC, or £40 if you don't check in online, £40 ferkin' pounds!

Speaking of discs have you tried switching the rotors around, front on the back and so on? Or try another disc to see what happens.

New pads will sort that I suspect, however some discs seem to squeal no matter what. Could try getting the mounts faced.
