I haven’t read the Strava privacy policy in-depth but it seems that even if you have a private account and also mark individual rides as private, this data is still shown on global heat maps – albeit anonymously. There’s a very convoluted way to opt out through the app, on their website it’s easier.

Nice El Mariachi. I was looking at the Ti but it’s out of production – now looking at the Lynskey Ridgeline.

I currently ride a Reynolds 520 tubed Genesis High Latitude 29er singlespeed (was alfine) which I can recommend. My only complaint is the weight. I use it for xc and singletrack but my wheels tend to stay grounded. I am looking to replace it with something of similar geometry and comfort but lighter – yet to find anything though.

I take an old folding bike to get around – it’s ideal. As previously mentioned I would never take anything decent.
