RS Components sell isopropyl at £5.84 for 500ml. Wouldn’t catch me taking my chances with those carcinogens when this will do fine,

I recently passed a club (not sure which one) on a long straight on the coast road, must have been the length of 3 buses and just as wide. I was on the motorbike, car drivers in front of me and behind the club were letting me past as there was no way they could safely overtake.

Just as I have no problem with buses on the road if 3 of them are driven along a road at 20mph and refuse to allow anyone to overtake I’d be unhappy yet these clubs present the same risks and if anyone dares to complain they’re accused of being anti-cycling?

Hope the clubs that are causing the problems have undertaken the necessary risk assessments and have their PLI in place because when the inevitable accidents do happen questions will be asked!

I’m with you coastkid, they’re more than a nuisance, they’re downright dangerous. I struggle to get past them on the CBR, never mind in a car – Only a matter of time before someone comes a cropper on the coast road.

Thanks for posting the videos, I reckon that for the money that is pretty good- more likely to take that out and use it on the kids’ bikes than a gopro,

If you love your skiing and want to develop it I’d advise buying your own, they won’t go obsolete! You need to get to know how the skis handle in different situations to build confidence at speed, and a different hire set each year won’t help. Servicing your own is not hard and you don’t have to shell out a fortune, some of the best sets I have I bought from ebay, doesn’t matter so much if you hit a rock either,

I’d just don the high viz vest at the site entrance, there should be a risk assessment you can see though. Better to remove the risk by segregation before PPE but I wouldn’t make an issue of it.

Double dip case here, looks good, not a scratch after 6 months and no need for screen protector, the cover protects the screen

Tried just about everything for years on one, only thing that shifted it was duct tape kept on for about 2 weeks.

Does seem steep, for routine maintenance I’d expect around £250 per quarter. They may well pay additional funds into a sinking fund for future major projects, ask the managing agents for a breakdown. It would certainly put me off as a buyer tbh, though older buildings=more upkeep and if you’re considering an older property I suppose you have to accept greater cost.

Yep, Trastevere the place to eat in the evening, very atmospheric in the lanes there. Top tip, if you want to stop for a drink go to the quieter streets away from the main sites, the views will cost!

Both of ours learned to pedal on the hotrock 12 aged 3, the back pedal braking really worked for our kids and gave them the confidence to progress, recommended from me.

Do the CDM regs not apply only to the construction phase of the build?

Yep, I’d stop work. get a QS to cost up value of work completed so far and pay him off on that basis, if it goes to legal this should help cover you.

Not a great idea to take the top road to Drem, that has faster traffic and the pavement is all of 300 metres outside Longniddry. Next time you go past Gosford road entrances look for the no cycling signs, gamekeeper used to chase cyclists off! East Fortune is the wrong direction for you from Drem, you want to head North from the station but both fast roads.

Why not settle for Longniddry beach? Has the blue flag, quieter and you’ll do it all off road from the Esk, sorted.

No way you’d be able to avoid the coast road for at least some sections I’m afraid, and cycling not officially permitted at Gosford. You’ll manage off road to west of Longniddry on the John Muir way and then you’ll hit the coast road, I’ll cycle on it but not with the kids. When you hit Aberlady you can take the back road by the old Drem airfield but at Fenton Barns to Yellowcraigs you’re back onto fast roads.

Completely tragic event but I don’t see how anything other than total segregation would eliminate all risk of this happening again.

If I’m assessing the risk of using a bike on a road I tend to consider if I’d be happy driving a car at 20mph on it – If I thought driving a car at that speed would increase the risk of an accident I would choose a safer route to cycle on. I suppose when planning such a long journey that it would be very difficult to plan for every potentially dangerous stretch of road.

Thoughts with the families of the victims, very sad indeed.

If you’re heading to Dunbar from North Berwick then you might want to include Tyningham, one of the best beaches in East Lothian, coffee shop looks good too.

Same requirements here, couldn’t do without our Sharan now and can fit an amazing amount in. Would look at a diesel though, our vr6 is a proper guzzler.

Not sure the agent has anything to apologise for, 2 offers did come in and were considered, likely buyer b wants to up their offer. I’d certainly listen to what they had to say but given their circumstances were a factor in going with the other buyer any increase would need to be significant to change my mind. Could be wrong though.

Think it is time you got all your neighbours to sign petition against this guy-send it to his landlord to get him out! Don’t think you need is speakers to wind him up, just set your door closers to slam, and make sure you make full use of that bathroom light switch- when he comes down just let him let him know not to bother coming down again.

Sounds like this guy’s obsessive disorder is getting worse, not sure what landlady or building management company are going to be able to do about his odd behaviour.

Can’t see it ending too well if you’re keen to remain on good terms, him thinking it is OK to come down at 5am sounds little concerning – if it were me I’d make it clear he’ll be reported for antisocial behaviour to appropriate authorities. Nip it in the bud!

I’d hang fire for the HTC, got the one on the Saturday past and it hasn’t disappointed. Build quality is first class, sound is best I’ve had on any phone, same for photos. Had a shot of the Xperia z off the Sony rep who was in the shop when I was, looked a really good phone and did consider it but very happy with the HTC.

Just received my HTC one yesterday, had htcs for years and had planned to switch to Samsung before they launched this, very glad I stuck with HTC for the one. Built quality is indeed the best of any phone I’ve picked up, fast enough for me and camera is really good indoors for a phone camera. Best is the sound quality, speakers are very clear but on decent earphones is just fantastic. Just works really well, no glitches so far.

Htc one getting great reviews, especially the camera, but not sure the cost on sim free. S3 great phone all round but build quality wee bit on the plastic side compared to htc.

Same as Bryang- pedals, crank and chain removed from hotrock 12 and as soon as our three year old got the hang of the balancing and was ready everything went back on and she was pedalling in no time. Made a big difference that she already had the confidence on the bike when the pedals went on, and of course saved on the cost of the balance bike.

Mate, all thinking of you here, you are doing so well in unimaginable circumstances. Pictures are beautiful and we can see how adored George was, and I too would want loved ones to rest together. LBS sounds a great idea.

Bruders, lot of support here for you and speak to friends, don’t bottle it in, so early but in time maybe bereavement counseling? Do be there to support your family but don’t forget to look after yourself, maybe a ride might help clear your head?
