Travel adjuster has been sat in my tool box for months now. Everything else is cool (apart from my back, but thats not got a service manual either!)

It is possible to get it welded over here and fixed up.

May not be an American or Chinese welder though ;)

on and on – you were just lucky.

Not the same in the MTB dept. downstairs. Some good stock but shocking service and incompetent workshop ‘skills’ in my experience.

I have never ever been so let down with any purchase in my life!

Been meaning to ask if rotor direction makes any difference ?

Had my bike upside down, back wheel out at Afan when some German chap came over to inform me it was back to front. I think he spotted it from half a mile a way and it was bugging him.

Always worked fine for me, but switched it now.

Pretty chuffed with my Thors at the moment. Aside from having new bushings/internals under warranty after 4 months riding!
Great back up service from Magura Uk when it was needed though which was a pleasant surprise compared to others out there.

I would love to make an appearance as its very local for me, although i will be coming back from AQR, Luchon the day before so i may want to make a very large imprint on the sofa that day.

There is loads of it as mentioned above. Almost exclusively north of the Thames, after 15+ years i still can’t link all of it together as well as i’d like.

Also a quiet shout for Sulham woods to the western edge of Reading for some sweeeet singletrack of an evening.

Have always run flats here, though thought of trying spuds recently as i’m generally on xc type duties.

Then i saw some shocking ‘spud-yanking’ type bunny hop attempts recently and i’m sticking to my Straitlines thank you very much.

Did my left one four years ago. Not pinned, but in plaster for 12 weeks. No physio afterwards either.

Bit of a mare as i don’t think it was set properly so get twinges fairly often. Not looking forward to old age, but who is?

Don’t know tbh, but i just tossed the lever and run at 140mm all the time on my hardtail.

At 100mm they were’nt great in my opinion

140 is the new 100, surely? Works well for me!

Run away fast as you can.

I listed some items for sale earlier today. First time in 4 years. Went out for a ride. Just got back to find my account has been hacked/abused, listings cancelled etc. Unable to log in to sort it out.

I had some of the very first ones back in August and did’nt initially get the best out of them. No top out clunks on mine but they were divey.
Did’nt like the travel adjust because it was too fiddly to operate and the fork behaved oddly in 100mm mode so always run at 140mm now and the remote is off the bike.
After a few months off over the winter i did have to send them back under warranty as they leaked a bit too much oil during a day at Cwmcarn (xc loop). Have had all new internals and bushings replaced (very, very quickly) under warranty and they seem like a different fork. I’m probably still bedding them in tbh, but taking care to equalize the air pressure and adding slightly more air than i was previously using the seem really good. Plush yet firm without being divey.
Coming from Fox forks without compression damping i never really liked the Albert damping as i could really feel/hear it working and a bit more air seems to do the biz instead so i don’t really use the damping either!
Overall impression is they feel better and better and i’ve found i’m not even thinking about how they behave on the trails these last few weeks- they just seem to get on with it which is what i’m after.

Pauls mechs always did it for me but i could’nt afford/justify spending more cash on a mech than my whole bike(Saracen) was worth at the time.

The bike belongs to a friend, and its so ugly i recognized it pretty quickly, despite the green paint being stripped off and front Spin wheel missing-i guess he did’nt have a rear going spare/could’nt fathom a single speed tensioner in order to change it’s appearance enough to make i less recognizable.

Said scrote had also ditched the straight carbon bar for a riser with bar ends!

I probably should have knocked him out as i live on the same street as the real owner and was also burgled last year, but hes going to get his bike back tomorrow and i still made the 9.30 train after giving my details and had a blinding day out on he South Downs!

I’ve always used the one on the BBC homepage for a quick reference, only switching to the Met office this week as the beeb has been gash, but the Met office has been spot on all week.

Done a couple recently with nothing more than a rear Shimano QR pushed through the holes on a couple of Park cone spanners (one on each cup)

Stud/washers sounds good. Never heard of freezing cups though, but also sounds good.
