Yeah that was one run and done. Can’t improve on that.

Superb effort but time to get out of there

It’s your bike. Just go and liberate it.

I had to do the same when my ex locked hers and our sons outside a big Tescos and lost the key.
Another time I spotted a mates old Pace bike outside the station (stolen in a burglary years before). I put my d-lock on it and called him up and we liberated it. A member of staff queried what we were up to and asked for ID! We declined.

    No one will G.A.S.

‘Favourite ever personally owned’ isn’t a bad benchmark, especially given the depth of experience (grandads) on here?😂

30 years ago I’d have said a green DeKerf. No idea what they rode like but they were expensive and exotic at the time.

“I wonder how many of the 1st gen models are still in one piece?”

Mine is (sort of)… although modded as the seatstay did crack at the dropout due to braking forces after a week in the Pyrenees. Went back to Lynskey under warranty, and repaired/completely redone with the ‘flames’ shot blast finish, so came back as new. Took several months, rather than get one from stock but I was happy with that. I put every single part on  a Sanderson Breath in the meantime which felt rubbish tbh.

Original 456 Ti is the best bike I’ve owned. Still got it and mean to resurrect it as ive been a lazy former mtber since parenthood.

£30 Cateye one from Halfords on my commuter. Slides off one handed in an intstant when I stop somewhere (have had one nicked). I also prefer using AA rechargeable batteries

My old amp in the dining room has given up this week.

Luckily there’s a proper audio whizz dude near me I can call upon. In a brilliant bit of nominative determinism he’s called Bob Noyes!

Humax Freesat box here (no aerial), but was a Sky dish when I moved in. Great bit of kit, must be 10 years old. I constantly use the pause/fwd functions.

Record plenty too, extra advantage being I can flip past the adverts.

After months of a squeaky saddle I loosened the clamp to clean/lube it. I then saw the snapped saddle rail that I’d previously moved so the clamp braced the break. Well over a year before I reckon. New saddle purchased

Not good news! I paid the £40 annual fee for the DH. Enjoyed the coverage but think I’ll get the partial refund and survive on YT highlights next year🙁

I’ve got the same stand and Madison didn’t help. I went to Park and they were very helpful.
I snapped the handle ($6.40) and ordered both barrels too. Wasn’t too expensive with shipping in 2020.

The stand was 15 years old then and lives permanently outside!

My 7 year old is already questioning the logistics of getting round soo many houses in one night and squeezing down the chimney.
He also wants to make sure our address is clearly written on the letter as ‘he never gets anything’ he’s asked for. The bloody cheek!

Cracking bikes those. My son got one from Santa. Red too, but didn’t come with skin wall tyres. It was however a ridiculous £230 from CRC last year. Not done enough off-road but in use everyday for the school run. Regretting not fitting some frame protection as the forks/stays are pretty scuffed.

Finally got round to fitting some replacement SKS ones on my 26” skinnyish tyred commuter. A job I’d been putting off because it’s a bit of a faff, but pleased I finally got round to it.

It’s certainly not a quick job to do right but will be worth the effort soon enough!

Don’t think I’ve seen a corned beef pasty in Greggs down sarf.

Luckily I’ve got a knock out old school independent pie shop nearby. Since I’m dining alone this week-last night was a fantastic curried beef pasty that I’d not had before. Tonight is the tried and tested (and their bestseller) steak & Stilton in proper pie format

Just realised I had a cheese n onion pasty earlier while delayed for 3hours at the train station

Yeah he’s brilliant fun. Saw him at a small festival a few years ago and he stuck around for a couple of days.

Good reminder as I’d forgotten about him

Cleo Sol has done two albums of stunning modern soul music

Also Moodymann’s most recent (but there’s quite a back catalog) oozing with soul (he’s from Detroit) and highly original output

My son, just turned 7, is about 120cm and I got him the Vitus 20+” at Christmas from CRC. A total bargain at £230 at the time. Used everyday on the school run (bumps up curbs nicely on the 2.6” tyre) and did some proper woodsy single track over the weekend.

None of the above. A proper adjustable sling type thing. Super comfy. I hiked all day long in the Alps carrying a two+ year old in one like this- https://www.buzzidil.com/gb/buzzidil-buckle-carrier/1153-1133-baby-carrier-buzzidil-eukalyptus-ssc#/27-size-standard_3_to_36_months_62_to_98_cm

Some years ago I made an impulse buy of an Intense 5.5 ‘custom build’ from a LBS. They’d put some Fox 36 forks on which
a)had too much travel for the frame warranty
    b) The adjusters on top of the crown would have put a nasty dent in the down tube if I ever came off.

There were other issues with the build. Words were had, was messed around lots but eventually got a full refund.

Just today I ordered a new Deore hub for my commuter-it was less than a fiver more for a complete hub to get the new freehub which I need

I bought some replacement batteries for a Bosch drill for just this reason.

Was a few years back. Unbranded, off eBay but cheap and saved the drill from landfill.

Unfortunate/annnoying accident but suck it up I’d say.
My daily use Abus D-lock had some attempts on it, generally tatty and looks worn but still keeps soldiering on. I’d certainly buy another.

I’ve never seen the value in these maintenance contracts. Mostly an annual tick the boxes safety check and if something does go wrong they call ‘sludge’ and wriggle out of any responsibility.
    Not bitter honestly.

that woman who only ever ate crisp sandwiches thought she was normal, too

    Is that on channel 5?

I’ve been happy with my Freesat box for a good few years as had a dish on the house already. Admittedly my viewing habits are a bit oldskool + I’ve got Netflix for my son. Wouldn’t pay for anything else

Also pausing/recording and skipping past ads is used a lot
