Won’t tailgaiting trucks be the norm once we do away with drivers. May as well get used to it.

Let’s hang them publicly. Sell tickets,  tv coverage and film rights. We’ll make it self financing, ’tis the modern way.

Raffle the hangman’s position, sell each inch off rope like they used to.

Combine it with the lottery. A Saturday night treat for the family.

With thanks to Alan B’Stard for the idea. Be careful what you wish for Al.

I commute by motorbike. I’d suggest an upright bike, far better than trying to commute on a sports bike. Your vision is much better.  I use a Z1000, but a CB500 or Kawzsaki ER5 would be ideal imo.

You’ll need decent gear. I use textile clothing not leather and 2 sets are good for when you gets really wet, and you will. Much easier than trying to dry kit overnight.

I leave trousers and shoes at work rather than carry them to and fro each day.

My commute is 11 miles. Allowing for getting togged up and changed at work, and the reverse on the home journey  I don’t save any time compared to the car but its much more fun. I guess you’ll save time compared to cycling.

I finish at 14.30 so the roads are much quieter going home than going to the office.

I don’t ride through the worst of the winter. Sod that!

Now you tell me. Ours cost about £250 all in. I’m never getting out of it……..?

Thanks everyone, no idea who my local bolt stockist is as I’ve moved to the other end of the country and been here for a day!

    You could try googling it.

I usually ignore those giving unsolicited advice.

Sometimes I ask if they’ve got a piece of paper and a pen. If they say yes, I  ask them to jot their name and number down. Then tell them that when I  give a **** what they think, I’ll give them a call.

Sometimes a quick **** Off suffices.

You live in STW? This sounds just like the kind of shit the joyless, po-faced middle class, free-range, vegan, organic, ethically sourced yoghurt knitters round there would pull

    Corrected for you.

She’ll be fine anyway if she gets caught again, a mother in court pleading hardship and an inability to ferry the kids around and do motherly things is never in a million years going to get banned

This boils my piss when people plead hardship. Tough, if you need the licence that much, drive accordingly.

Brave words for here. I take my hat off to you.

I’d choose radio over TV any day. Not sure I’d choose music alone over the telly though.

My money’s on the battery being shagged. Had the very same thing with my bike. Charge the battery and it’d start OK. Leave it overnight and you’d be greeted by the click of death. It was charging when running so new battery time.

I got a Motoatt one on the rcommendation of my local motorbike shop. Seems OK, so far. I usually go for a Yusa one, but we’ll see how this one goes.

£1.50 that’s cheap. I picked up two magnums last night when I filled the car. It wasn’t until I  got home and looked at the receipt that I found out that I’d paid £5.60 for them. Rather spoilt the taste of it.

I got an incentive from my employer when I was made redundant last year. This was to stay until the end of the 6 months notice they gave me. This and the redundancy pay, capped at £489 per week and limited to 29 week IIRC,  was tax free. I had to pay tax un the holiday pay. I cancelled any holiday I’d booked and took the money instead. Thought that I might have a lot of free time after the 6 months, but luckily I found a job .

Got some nice rebates from the tax man too. The first month in the new job I paid 87p in tax. The next they gave me £675 back.

They’ve installed them in my local Poundland. I know, I know but I can buy the same face wipes (for Mrs Z) and my preferred deodorant for much less than half  the price elsewhere. The “average” Poundland customer struggles with them and they’ve closed the other tills.

The attendant has to intervene on nearly every transaction. Grrrrrrrr.

The Cannondale looks very nice indeed. I like the colour scheme very much.i like the horizontal top tube too,  rather than the usual slopping style that’s so popular these days.

    A clasdy looking bike.

No point. People would pass the test and still drive badly. No one gives a toss anymore.

’tis the way these days. We’ve enough laws to cover almost anything but by introducing another law the powers that be can put their hands on their hearts and say that they’ve done something.

Nothing really changes but something has been done.

A quick squirt from your water bottle while he had the window down would’ve been good. Shame you bottled out of following him home. I’m guessing he wasn’t up for a scrap or he’d have stopped sooner. Failing that take his mirror off. Remember a hard downward strike to it. If he complains tell him he wasnt using it anyway so what’s the problem.

I don’t think you are being terrible, nor unreasonable. Your gaff, your rules. Tell the MIL she’s welcome to vist at the weekend. Let her worry about the time off and expensive rail travel. She wants to vist so she can fund the trip. I’m sure she’d bend over backwatds to accomodate your whims if the shoe was on the other foot.

Why worry whether she likes the dog’s name. It’s your choice. She won’t be the one calling out its name in the park.

    It’s a **** dog, not the messiah.

    Never understood why?

Perhaps they don’t trust your driving and want a chance to jump out of the was as you take a call, text or use your phone as a sat nav.

There’s nowt as queer as folk, as they say.

I think that a highly trained swat team at close distance should be able to shoot their gun accurately and perhaps more importantly not just shoot it at any person that moves their hands.

How many shots were fired at Jean Paul de Menezes from close range and how many hit him? He was sat down at the time.

11 fired with 7 hits. Now move the shooters away and see many more miss. This was on a brightly lit tube train.

I use Dianese Typhoon jacket and trousers. Warm, waterproof and comfy. Cost £400. I think I’d prefer to buy a new set every 12 to 18 months than spend 5 times the amount on something else.

Why do they shoot to kill straight away? why not in the leg or something?

When I married Mrs Z her mother had died. No MIL for me. The FIL, now he’s another thing. Luckily he lives abroad so our paths never cross. Barely had a civil word from him in nigh on 40 years. He’s the same with everyone so I don’t feel put out.

Nothing wrong with boiling them. Just don’t boil them for too long. Catch them when they’re still firm, but not hard and they taste great.
