Well it’s very difficult to say for a start.

    Not for Jonathon Ross :-)

If the car manufacturers made it easier to change a headlamp bulb it would help.

One went on our Citroen over the Christmas holiday. Ye gods what a palaver to change it. Luckily it was booked in for an MOT early in the new year so I let the garage do it at the same time.

No way could I get to the back of the headlamp assembly, and to remove the headlamp (which I thought might be easier) you have to remove the bumper!

Do car designers not have cars of their own?

I think I’d pass on this. My experience of eBay sellers makes me think that honest ones are few and far between.

That even when they’ve left home and got children of their own you’ll still be expected to leave your warm lounge and take them home from the supermarket on a freezing cold Saturday evening cos they’ve spent all their money and can’t afford a cab home.

Good job I only had one pint in the pub with Mrs Z on the way home from town yesterday.

    Does it ever end :(

My parents died over 30 years ago. Mrs Z’s mother died before we met. I’m grateful in a small way for this. I don’t think I have the disposition to deal with dementia in a loved one. Fingers crossed that Mrs Z doesn’t get it.

The FIL has dementia, but luckily he lives in Ireland. We’ve scarcely exchanged a civil word in 37 years, so I’ll not shed a tear for that arse now.

I keep scouring ebay and the small ads for a frame to build a road bike from. I keep telling myself that I’d take my time and buy bits as I find them, but I know that I’d probably pop into my LBS and buy everything in one expensive purchase

Perhaps I should limit myself to spending a little each month.

I hope that the scrote is charged and has his day in court. If not, he’ll just assume that he’s got away with it and won’t change his behaviour.

I’m sure of I punched Mrs Z in the face while pissed I’d be up before the beak in double quick time. Mind you, the legal side of things would be the least of my worries. She is one to bear a grudge……..

This is no different in my view.

I’d put money on it being The River by Bruce Springsteen.

Just tell him he’s not welcome. I don’t get on with Mrs Z family. I can’t be arsed to put up with all their constant hassles. Just cos I married their sister/daughter doesn’t mean my life’s got to be one roller coaster of blame and counter blame about who did what, said what to whom.

They’re constantly falling out with each other, blaming another and before you know it the ones that fell out are fine and blaming the other. **** ’em. They’re worse than schoolkids.

Mrs Z is happy to visit them, or they come to ours when I’m not there.

With regard to question 2, I very much doubt it. Mrs Z is a named driver on our policy, but only the policyholder is insured to drive other cars.

You’ll be arrested by 11:30. They’ll keep you in the cells overnight and Mrs DK will have to come and collect you in the morning.

Well, I for one can’t wait. I fell asleep during every WSB race I watched, and even BSB lacked it’s normal sparkle.

I just wish Rossi had not looked to his left during the Marquez incident. If’ he’d kept looking where he was going I feel that it would have been put down as a racing incident and quickly forgotten.

I reckon Pedrossa’s got perhaps his best chance of a title if he can maintain the form and maturity he found at the end of last season. Lorenzo can find a corner to curl upin and stay there until November. Marquez is fantastic to watch. I’d give a kidney to have half his talent on a bike, but I just can’t warm to him.

I want Rossi to win one more championship, or more, but that’s hoping for too much.

    Fan boy, moi?

I guess than unless the bike was brand new, they’ll assess it’s current value, not what it cost. Rather like a car. You only get the current book value, not what you paid for it some time ago.

I’d spend a bit on a newish car and put the rest into a trust of some sort for the grandchildren.

At least you got your goods. I was ripped off for some rollers by a scrote going by the name of Hywel D Stredwick. At least, that’s the name of the bank account he asked me to pay into.

From the valleys I believe, if you google his name.

Not via STW I hasten to add.

I recently bought a Boardman Hybrid Comp. I’m very pleased with it. Got it when they had a 10% off promotion by buying a set of tyre levers which took the purchade to £401 and paid £360.

    Good value for that price.

I to changed the saddle to a Charge Spoon, much comfier.

[quoteWhy don’t you think about what you said for five seconds more – particularly the phrase “you can’t have it both ways” – and consider what makes it inane?[/quote]

Hmmm, I’ve spent 10 seconds thinking and I’m still struggling to understand whats inane.

    Perhaps you could explain. K.i.s.s.

Didn’t he refuse to recognise the legitimacy of the British court at the time of his trial?

If so, perhaps the court should not recognise his claim. You can’t have it both ways.

Can’t we have one petition to ban everything?

It would save a lot of time.

Really hard to see why Judges, civil servants and doctors would all conspire.

    Judges, part of the establishment

Civil servants, part of the establishment

    Doctors, part of the establishment

    Can you join the dots……?

The establishment sticking together. Who’d have thought it.

I expect the extent of his condition has been exaggerated.

I can remember when, if Christmas fell on a weekend, shops would be closed from Friday afternoon until Wednesdsy morning.

It’s a wonder we didn’t all die of starvation.

^^^ Because when the same company ring again and again and again despite me telling them that they’ve got a wrong number I lose my temper. They could amend their records, but they never do.

They don’t so I have a bit of fun with them. They don’t likeit, they know how to resolve it.

How old is the house. A lot of newer ones, and many where there’s been work carried out have valves in the pipes leading to the taps.

Get a torch and have a poke around under the sink. You may see what looks like a screwhead visble. Ours had holes cut into the back of the sink base unit to allow the water supply to each tap to be turned off.

We keep getting calls for a Mr Fellows. Despite telling them on numerous occasions that they have a wrong number they keep calling.

Now I tell them that I am Mr Fellows, but I’m balls deep in the wife, dog, chap next door etc.. and ask if they’d mind calling back later.

I go into quite graphic detail at times. It usually brings Mrs Z to the phone to see who I’m talking too.

Lesley C. She was a friends girlfriend. We’d gone to a party at the sailing club together that the boyfriend could not attend. I was going anyway and Lesley was a little reluctant to go on her own. I asked her to come with me, they’d be other mutual friends there so it couldn’t be considered a date.

I’d worshiped her for some time (and still do, if the truth be told). She was perfect, stunningly pretty, a figure to die for and just a genuinely very nice person.

She had picked me up and took me home. When she dropped me off she turned off the engine and we sat chatting for a while. I was thinking about inviting her in for a coffee, nothing more, she wasn’t that sort of girl. I didn’t as I lost my bottle and watched her drive away and out of my life. She and my friend split up soon after.

It truly is one of my few real regrets that I never plucked up the courage at the time. It’s true what they say, that we regret what we didn’t do.

    No.

Let some other **** sort it out. When will we learn that we’re not responsible for everything throughout the world.

No one will thank us and most will blame us.

I’d say the cyclist bears the brunt of the blame. Don’t overtake (or undertake at junctions).

Late indicating from the taxi, but surely you’d expect taxis to make sudden changes of direction.

Another vote for the scaper, unless it’s a really heavy frost when de icer comes into play.

What does annoy me is getting up at 06.30 to scrape the car for Mrs Z, when I don’t have to leave the house until 08.50.

She woundn’t do it for me if the times were reversed.

I too was drunk. Her sister had been giving me the eye all evening. By the time I’d plucked up the courage to ask her for a dance, we were at a new years eve party, the sister was nowhere to be seen.

I actually asked a pile of coats if they wanted to dance. As I said, I was drunk and the lights were low.

A timid voice said “do you mean me”. I replied that if you’re between 6 and 60 (luckily, this was long before Operation Yewtree as she was 16) then yes.

We danced (I really must’ve been pissed). We met again a week later and I realised that I rather fancied her. Still do some 37 years later. For some inexplicable reason she fancied me, which helped.

I’d slways go for paste the paper. I put up some wallpaper at my daughter’s place recently. That was paste the wall stuff. Awful. The paper would expand once it had soaked up the paste causing the joints which were flat to rise up. It was tricky to move the paper and if you lifted it up to remove bubbles, or after trimming the ends it wouldn’t stick that well again.

Daughter was pleased, but Mrs Z would have made me re do it, I’m sure.

are the BBC a commercial station now!?

I’d don’t pay my licence fee for this etc., etc., etc!

If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Do you expect the BBC to only broadcast programmes you approve of?

The idea (being roundly slammed as stupid) was to bomb Raqqa – seeing as it’s where ISIS seem to have their club hut.

Do it. What’s the worst that could happen? :D
