:-)Dislocated shoulder 9 weeks ago, waiting to see consultant in september before getting back on the mountain bike skinny road tyres only at the moment. Healing vibes to anyone that’s injured

I use the front shock pivot from a santa cruz blur, bolt from the inside of the bottom bracket to hold the pivot shaft in place and then a bolt thru the mudguard. I’m running full SKS guards. I’ll try and sort out photo’s later

2nd hand soul, I got one for £200 and have never looked back best riding hardtial I’ve ever had bar none and I also have a yoeddy so it’s pretty high praise. it’s just fun to ride and can handle a lot more than I’m capable of riding :)

Hi pulled mine apart last night, well just the bottom really as somehow the half moon thing was 180 degrees out so I just popped the bottom offspan the half moon round 180 degress and clipped it back together. The damper in my rev’s is the red one not the blackbox one shown above. When I get a moment I might try and unscrew the top off and completely strip it down

The whole program was superb, the skating was very good but Rodney Mullen’s been doing a lot of those moves for a while, not a criticism just pointing something out. Danny’s ride up the wire was completely mental

the half moon is meant to line up with the two dots in one position(fully open I think) and then completely cover the port when it’s locked out. Mines working back to front and I had to open the floodgate completely. It’ll be coming apart tonight when I get home

@bigjim, thanks might give that a go tonight while the forks are off the bike, it’s nice being able to take the moco unit out of the forks without having to empty all the oil.

@elfin, sounds like you’ve got exactly the same problem as me, mine had jammed and the forks didn’t compress into a rutt, I got spat off and I’m now recovering from a dislocated shoulder, probably a bit of user error also contributed to the accident

Hi davecrampton, I had to bend the stays thru the Avid brakes, it worked pretty well and looks neater than having massive spacers. I originall y just zip tied the rear guard to the chainstays near the bottom bracket but managed to get a thru bolt from a santa cruz Blur which works perfect. I’ll take some photos and email them to you. The mudguards are SKS Chromoplastic Road Mudguard Set courtesy of wiggle

6ft and a bit, 35″ inseam I ride a 58cm with a 100mm stem, saddle to centre of bb is about 810mm with 175mm cranks. Tried it with a 110mm stem but didn’t feel right.

Shimano brakes normally feel rock solid to me, I reverse bleed with a syringe and a bit of tube.

Take the reservoir cover off, attach syringw to caliper bleed nipple and suck all the fluid out, then with fresh fluid refill thru the bleed nipple once the resevoir is full lock of the bleed nipple.

Replace cover and try, if they still feel a bit spongy hang the bike up by the front wheel and pull the levers back and lock off with zip ties and leave overnight.

That normally results in a rock solid feel for me.

thanks for the input, I’m erring on the large as I don’t like big bikes and ride the smallest I can sensibly get away with.

worth putting some tape on the inside of the left chainstay, stops the paint getting chipped by the rotor when putting back wheel in :)

Excellent post, dislocated my shoulder just under 3 weeks ago, really missing riding any of the bikes. Hopefully back on the bike and shoulder ok for off road stuff by the time we head to the lakes in august but will have to wait and see. Weather last night was ideal for riding round our way too, c’est la vie :)

just spotted the ratios on the suntour and they’re rubbish so it’s a fight between XT and SRAM, SRAM come in pretty colours is there any noticeable difference in shifting quality?

yep sounds like heater matrix, what motor is it could be a 30 minute job depending if there’s an access hatch to the matirx, if not it’s a full dash out job which can be silly money at a garage

Filing the mount isn’t an option, it’s the actual boss on the fork lowers that the rotor is hitting.

So options are Hope Hub which means rebuilding the front wheel or get someone to mill some material off the alloy spider on the disk rotor or mill some material off the king hub (not really an option)
