I stick any old rubbish on the P7,hasn't complained once and I'm not good/fast enough to tell the difference.Advantage on the front, worn out Medusa on the back.Works a treat.

I went to the TT fof 5 consecutive years, highlights being seeing Joey Dunlop pass Mike Hailwood's win total.Trevor Nation wrestling the Norton Rotary down Bray Hill.Breath taking stuff.
Was talking to Guy Martin at the Builth Wells MTB Marathon-lovely bloke.
If you've never been it's well worth the effort.I don't ride motorbikes anymore, but I will go back.

Tron,FOTD is very gentle.Took a mate there last year,no chicken runs needed. Enjoy.

Edric, none of the above are going to win any beauty contests. There's plenty to choose from. Very odd that folk are still bothered about badges.Stuck in the past?

R1s,light,powerful,look great….but I have seen a number with the same fault;leaking master cylinders. The part needed to rectify the problem took weeks, rather than days to arrive.

Ride as often as you can.
Ride with a group. If they can do it,you can.
Ride through the winter, adapting to mud, ice, snow, sharpens you up and you're fit for Spring/Summer.
Stay loose on your bike. Easier said than done, but it works.

I'm going the other way. If it's not getting used, sell it. Had promised myself a new motorbike last year. When it came to actually buying it,changed my mind. It would have just sat gathering dust in the garage.

Mine's like Scuzzer's…but not as bling. Great bikes,as are Orange 5s. They're wasted in trail centres, come into their own in the Peaks/Lakes. Flatter my lack of ability.

If Newcastle-Under-Lyme is close enough, try Goldtec/BETD. Mike is a top notch wheel builder.

I don't care, just happy to finish the full distance which was my objective. The heat added to the challenge, great feeling crossing the line. I will be back.

It was my first marathon did the full distance, fair play to Nezbo on doing it in that time. I had a couple of mechanicals and struggled with cramp.Finished on 5.19
Really enjoyed it,well organised, stunning scenery, friendly mountain bikers and Guy Martin!

Only 80k?? That's taken the shine off it. Can't come home to the Mrs,complain that I'm tired, when I've only rode 80k. I'm sticking to 100,sounds far more impressive.

Wasn't aware that numbers were down. You're right about the costs, tho. We're car sharing, which helps.I rarely use my car for bike duties,so I don't feel too daft….and at least there's plenty of riding to do.

Wouldn't have thought so. I'm hoping to do 100,but will duck out at 75 if I'm struggling. Looks like it'll be warm.

I used a Camelbak in a local XC race.Worked for me. A sweaty back,is a small price to pay for easy sipping.

Some great cars here…even the Toyota, but the clip of Kenny Roberts did it for me.As cool as….

Jedi,I will try that.I,like most ride by instinct.I'm not aware of dropping heels, moving hips back etc….
I have altered my descending technique,by listening to the better riders inour group.Previously,I just hung my arse off the back of the seat and hoped(must say,it usually worked). Doing it correctly gives more control/confidence.

I can't wheelie, manual,or owt else, but I get round ok. The "how to" sections in magazines and advice like Jedi's make no sense to me.

V brakes are you mad? If you don't like technology get a rigid SS and pray for your knees.

The trail fairies have done sterling work, following the logging in the winter.
I prefer it to Cannock and Llandegla and thankfully those two places help keep the traffic away from Hanchurch.
Enter the XC race next year,it's great fun.

Some hilarious replies…I thought folk bought singlespeeders as a ready made excuse for hopping off on the climbs…

It's my playground,as much fun as anywhere, but you need to know your way round. Wouldn't advise travelling any distance, unless you know a local.
