I’ve got Salsa had none of tha above problems, but then again,I’ve never had any trouble with any QRs.

Me too. I wouldn’t touch a carbon mountain bike by any manufacturer…but they’re soooo light…if that’s your thing.

    That’s awful news.
To those that think specific cars are safe ,or otherwise be warned. They use a lever to prise open the door and take whatever they want. It happened to us many moons ago, outside our house and the car was alarmed.

I’ve bruised, cracked and broken mine….all hurt a lot. There’s no rhyme,or reason with recovery time, but it can take a while.

Monkey, they’re both very good. I like the noise of a Hope hub.
My next set of wheels will have Goldtec hubs, with the Stans rims. Goldtec/BETD is my LBS.

There was one at the Hanchurch Demo evening. I didn’t ride it,but those that did, liked it. I followed it on technical, rooty section,he was faster on it,than his own hard tail.

Ernie,it might not bother you,or Stephen Fry :P,but it has pissed a lot of people off. Maybe you’re out of kilter with the general consensus.
….And what about UKIP? racists from “nicer” backgrounds and more expensive suits?

Ernie, how can you say I’ve missed the point and that it’s just the tip of the iceberg?? I know exactly what sort of people we’re dealing with…..but the “respectable” parties have kept the Telegraph going for nearly two weeks with their swindling.
Away from the middle/chattering classes…and MTB forums 😉 the BNP do have sympathisers, scarey but true.

We used terry nappies for both of our kids.Disposables were use occasionally on day trips/holidays.
We were on a tight budget ,(Wife of Riley finished work to be with the baby)the thought of wasting money on disposables out weighed the covenience/green issues.
It was a long time ago,but I was a nifty nappy-changer,although I did stick the pin in my thumb on a few occasions.

I live in Stoke and unfortunately we have 2 BNP councillors. Areas like Stoke are very vulnerable to the BNP chancers. I can see them doing well in the forthcoming Euro Elections.
Singling-out a BNP councillor for benefit fraud is a bit rich, when MPs of all political persuasions have been fleecing the tax payers.
Also, our(Stoke’s)elected Lord Mayor has been suspended and a Tory councillor for alledged corruption.

While we’re ranting, can we please erradicate the Ausralianism of ending a sentence on a higher note? It drives me crazy ape bonkers. Two of my riding pals do it..and they’re Teachers! What kind of example ? etc,etc..
Off to Hanchurch now,for a very wet Demo night.

A ride in the Peaks on Sunday with the usual culprits. My first visit in 5 years. For me,it’s proper mountain biking. It lashed down for the last twenty minutes. I’ve cleaned the bike, but the inside of my car is a mess.Never mind 😆

What ever you choose, lay off the jet wash. My Hope rear hub is on it’s second bike and it’s still running smooth. Haven’t replaced bearings,or done any work on it.and I ride year round in all conditions.
However,I’m thinking of having a P7 for winter and sticking allmy old stuff on it. Thinking of sticking Goldtec hubs/Stans rims on the 575.

Mine are 17 and 13. I did motorbike enduros and trail riding when they were young. I didn’t ride as much as my mates, but enjoyed it when I did.
My wife is pretty relaxed about me riding my bike,or going fishing, but I do like spending time at home with the family.
Seeing those great photos of the little ones brings back happy memories. Enjoy it,cos they’ll be stroppy teenagers before you know it.

Some great motors on this thread.Proper Minis and MK2 Escort probably my favourites. Never seen the point in the faster cars….if you want to go quick buy a motorbike! A mate of mine had a 911 ,when I had a GPz 900(when it was current) we had a quarter mile sprint…you know the rest. He sold the 911 and got himself a GPz.

Surprised to see so many Golfs. My first car was a Mk1 GTI,a failed attempt to wean myself off m/bikes(smashing myself up,friends getting killed etc). I did like Mk1,but all the lardy, big ugly brutes that have apppeared since have been a total turn off.
Not fussed about cars now, just transport. Did like the Integra Type R that appeared earlier.

I had 3 years off with health/house extension issues. Started back about 12 months ago, enjoying it more than ever and have reached a reasonable level of fitness.Never let a bit of rain put you off.
Having said thay if you’re not enjoying it,have a break,go fishing…or something else.

What about BETD/Goldtec hubs with Stans rims. Popular in these parts and light.
Don’t know the weights, perhaps phone and ask for details.

I never stray from my LBS. They haven’t got any Hope QRs,no chamois cream and probably no 29er inner tubes…..but they will always help to get my bike ready for the next ride, always offer honest and helpful advice and there’s always fresh coffee brewing.
