Is there an owners club? These are usually the best source of useful info for any bike,or car. Lovely bike btw.

Penmachno isn’t too far away. I prefer it to Coedy,no cafe, bike wash,or any other facilities, just good fun.

Green Room, depending on the age of your bike, yeti are decent enough with warranty claims. The same happened to a mate’s 575 and they replaced it with no problemms.
    I’ve got an 07 575 and it’s helped my riding,no end.

I like the Orange, similar to Focus ST/Gallardo. Closely followed by the green.

zuke, the solution should be ok ,left in the tyre.
I demoed an Orange with Mountain Kings fitted a few weeks back. Liked the bike, didn’t like the tyres.

I’v posted on a similar thread, but here goes. There is very little faffing if you stick to the routine.
A compressor is a big help.
Soapy water on the beads, really helps.
Riding ASAP following the fitting makes a massive difference.
You CAN do it with non-tubeless tyres and rims.If I can do it anybody can.
Run some insulating tape around non-tubeless rims 3,or 4 times. Tightly.Again this makes a big difference.
Ofcourse the Stans system isn’t perfect, but it brilliant for folk that do a lot of riding.(especially in thorn-cursed areas)
I’ve had 4 thorns,in the rear tyre without any problems. Only noticed them when I was cleaning the bike.
A mate rode over some glass the other week.We heard the hiss as he hit the glass. He stopped, shook the wheel a bit,it sealed no problem.
“Burping” is the main problem,it’s happened to me once,a quick blast with a CO2 cannister did the trick.
    Hope this helps.

Tubeless is no problem, when done correctly.
    Use Stans stuff,it’s the best.
Some tyres go on easier than others. If apply a soapy solution on the beads before inflating. Then give it a good blast of air to seat the tyre correctly. Shake the wheel about to spread the solution. Go for a ride ASAP.(this really helps)
I’ve done quite a few now for myself and mates. The last one that I did ,was probably the best so far. Quick, easy and didn’t lose any air over night.

Birky, thanks for the correction. I like the Bee Emm GS range, but both my mates had problems with all the ones that they owned. They look great though!

I’ve never really thought about how I actually negotiate a bend, just get through them as quick as possible. I’m using Kenda Dread Treads at the momment. Good ,grippy tyres especially on roots. They inspire total confidence.

Modern Bee Emms aren’t THAT reliable. I like the look of ’em,but a couple of my mates that still ride, have them. They are pleased with them in general, but wouldn’t own one out of warranty.
If I remember correctly, one of the poncey actor’s bikes rear shocker failed twice. The fabled German engineering,eh?

I think MTB forks are over-priced,but they do perform well in grim UK conditions. I don’t carry out any real maintenance on my bike, but it is cleaned, usually immediately following a ride and I don’t use a jetwash (why would you?).My Revelations have behaved themselves and the recently acquired Float is the dog’s doo dahs. So far.

We holidayed there a couple of years ago and loved it. However, when we arrived at Jo’burg airport ,I did feel uneasy. I never use the word “vibe”,but that place as got a bad one. We had a week in the Pilanesburg Reserve.Fantastic! Hired a car and did a bit of exploring.Locals were very friendly.
We returned to jo’burg Airport for the flight down to Cape Town. This time it didn’t seem so intimidating, but I still couldn’t take to the place.
And then there’s Cape Town, what a place! Again we hired a car and did plenty of exploring. We’ve been fortunate enough to visit some beautiful places, but Cape Town is my favourite.
Now the negatives, the poverty does get to you. There is too much violent crime, although we didn’t see any trouble,or hear any gun shots. There seemed to be some underlying resentment from a number of white folk to majority rule. We had our suitcases emptied of anything of any value from Jo’burg Airport on our return journey. The new President is a bit of a tit.
As an aside,a customer’s boyfriend was stabbed in the stomach with a screwdriver, less than half a mile away from my house. There is an element of danger in most countries.

I’ve had a lot of involvement with our local Special Adventure Playground, where a few autistic children attended. They have some great trikes there, designed and built by the late, great George Longstaff. Thankfully, they are still making bikes and trikes.Got to be worth a phone call. (Longstaff Cycles) I will look for their contact details.

Some great advice here and well done Rochey for holding fire.
We’ve got two rescue cats, they aren’t much trouble and are great additions to the family, but they are occasionally sick on the carpet and bring daead creatures into the house.Wouldn’t be without ’em.

What a catalogue of disasters. I’ve got a Sram chain,cassette,X9 rear mech, front mech and X9,twist grip shifters. All have been fine.I rde a couple of times a week in all weathers, but I do keep it clean.
    Never snapped a chain,shattered a cassette,or wrecked a mech,Shimano,or Sram. Must be lucky.
When I see the state of some of the bikes that come into our LBS,I’m surprised there aren’t more failures. I’d be embarrassed expecting somebody to work on such shitty bikes.
