Mine has just arrived at BETD. There is a white one that arrived at the same time(so that I had a choice). It's a 17 inch model.

I must admit that the "Made in Halifax" badge adds a certain something to the brand. Hope and Triumph motorbikeshave the same effect.
And then there's the Union Jack on Whytes, which for some reason ,really pisses me off.Same with the niche brands like Cotic.Just another Taiwanese frame….and then there's Yeti..handbuilt since 1864.What a load of tosh! (and I own one of their "hand built 575s)

Dibley(Martin Brookes) is our local hotshot. he has cleared Jacobs Ladder, but he is incredibly fit and skilfull.
I'm a decent climber, but my balance and general bike handling skills are shite,so I always fall off…..Doesn't stop me from trying though.

If I could afford a new Audi,I'd buy a FordFiatVauaxhallHyudai and waste the money that I'd saved on more pushbikes..

FTD is fine for a quick couple of laps. I wouldn't travel too far. I live in Stoke and it makes a change from Hanchurch, but it's not as good.

I bit the bullet at about this time last year. I don't commute,so this is my set up :Hope 4 on the handlebars and a Mi Newt on the helmet. They've transformed my night riding, lots of confidence and loads of fun.
I like the power settings on the Hope. One,or two are usually adequate, saving the full power for technical and/or unknown stuff.
As yet I've not run out of juice on the Hope. The Mi-Newt usually goes for 3hours.

Looks great to me.I'm not into all this hucking and aggro,or whatever else the fatties that can't climb have dreamt-up this week.

What a machine..takes me right back. Flush the tank and carb and make fresh mix. I love the smell of 2-stroke in the morning..etc..

Talking to the knowledgable mechanic in my LBS.Kenda are not alone in issuing disclaimers when a sealant is used. They're all at it.

Here's another one for Hope. I've got ancient C2s on my 575,they were on my Stumpjumper before that and on an old mate's bike previous to that. Despite the piss-taking off my so-called riding pals, they have never let me down. Maintenance? They were bled when swapped from Spesh to Yeti. I ride year round, all weathers.

interesting….one of my Dred Treads has expired, but it's had a tube in it since a trip to the Lakes over a month ago. The front, which was fitted at the same time,is fine. And it's still got Stans jiz in it.

Minty arse lard is pricey. What do you expect from Assos?.
I'm not a fatty, but started using it after a bout of boils. I was prepared to try anything and have carried on using it,cos I like the tingly sensation. You don't get that with Sudocrem!

I'm slow in all conditions. At least the mud gives me an excuse. I do enjoy riding in these condtions, but I don't enjoy the horrible grinding noises emanating from various parts of the bike,or the post-ride clean up operation.

Penmachno is just outside Betsy and is great fun. If you're keen and/or fit you can easily do the Marin and Penmachno in one day.

keva, you have my sympathy.Boils and then a hernia lead to me difting away from mountain bikes a few years ago.
I had the blood tests,I'm not diabetic. Had a few courses of antibiotics(can't remember which ones). They would clear up and then flare up again.Had them on my arse and thighs, sometimes a few at a time.Felt unwell for about 3 months. Some would come to a head and had to be squeezed and cleaned up.Some of the feckers had a core,a couple of inches long.Nice! Others would stay red, hurt like hell and then subside.
I became obsessive with personal hygiene,Hibiscrub was my arse-wash of choice. Thankfully, they eventually stopped re-appearing and thankfully haven't returned.
I returned to MTBing about 18 months ago,i use Asoss cream and wear their bibshorts in the warmer months. This probably doesn't make a scrap of difference, but I feel as though I'm being pro-active and the shorts are the comfiest I've used.
Good luck in your battle against the boils!

Hope all the way. I've got ancient C2s never seized,or let me down despite using regular dot brake fluid. A riding buddy has just flogged his XTR brakes and replaced them with Hopes.
Also,Hope after sales care is legendary. Ask anybody that was saved by them at the Mega.

I dunno, but they've used some great stuff throughout and I've known only one of 'em. A sure sign that I'm old and completely out of touch.
