I’m not sure I can help, I have a Unitiqute, which I guess works in a similar way. I can stream my iTunes library via UPnP, though don’t use it often. I guess it would work in the same way for an Amazon library.
I think if you use a Bluetooth connection you will loose a considerable amount of quality; not something you want if you have a quality player like the Mu-SO.
I’d go with MuppetWrangler’s suggestion and go and see a proper Naim dealer (not John Lewis / Richer Sounds) and get some proper advice. I bought mine from Peter Tyson who were more than helpful.

Everyone else in the house is having turkey and all the trimmings. Me, I can’t stand it so a nice bowl of pasta perhaps with a fishy sauce, warm bread and a nice glass or two of beaujolais. Perfect. Will be fit and ready for a Boxing Day run.

I too used to have a Ventile smock, in the day it was brilliant but I suppose modern fabrics have superseded the cotton.
Having said that, it was always quiet and when dry very comfortable. Many years ago ‘the’ manufacturer were Grenfell who were the Patagonia of the day.

I’ve used DSC and Loxley, both are good but Paul Grundy at UKVPRO (contact via FaceBook) must be the best printer out there. His knowledge of printing and the quality of work is exceptional.

They’re huge, very bulky coats, and too warm for this country. I got one when in Canada a few years ago. (They are considerably cheaper there). It was fine in temperatures of -30. It kept me warm; or at least I didn’t freeze to death. Over here at +2 it’s far too warm a jacket. Much happier with my Snugpak which cost 20% of the price of the Goose.
Having said that it does look very cool!!!

I bought a pair of Red Wings last year whilst on holiday in San Francisco. On their first few uses they felt too small, and took a bit of wearing in. But the assistant had said they’re a bit tight at first and notorious for the break in time.
I persisted and now have the best looking and most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned. Never again would I look at Timberland and the like.
The Red Wings are worth every penny.

    Look at http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk
They generally keep up to date on current pricing.
Or how about you/she goes to your local camera shop and discusses with them her requirements.

Why buy an SLR if you’re not a Pro photographer? They’re big and heavy, and you’ll have to lug a load of gear around in a bag that will take a chunk out of your budget.
I guess you’re not a Pro else you wouldn’t need to ask the question on what to buy. To be honest if your budget (is only) 500, you are not going to get a quality camera and all the lenses. To do that you are going to have to at the very least triple your budget.
So instead I’d follow purple moose’s suggestion and look at Fuji compact systems. The x-pro1 has an APS sensor and a decent number of MP’s. To me who has spent half a photographic life hauling cameras and lenses up hill and down dale and recently moved to a more compact system then its a no brainer.
Have a look at for some good reviews of all thats available.

All the images on my Flickr account here are shot at 35mm

    Great Portfolio there Greg.

I think I agree with everything geetee1972 says.
    I have 21, 35 and 50mm lenses.
The 21mm is only used to try and capture huge landscapes. It doesn’t get used very often. Its just too wide and i find I have to crop down. My thought therefore is that I might as well have used the 35mm.
The 50mm is for street and portrait work, it opens wide and is a lovely lens.
The 35mm is on the camera 80% of the time. Its good for landscapes, and can be used on the street. I agree trying to take a portrait is a bit difficult.
I like my 35mm so much that I’ve just got rid of one and bought another that opens up just a little more. Its perfect!
These are all used on a FF camera.

35mm full frame. Its good for anything.

    I wouldn’t loose a 35mm for a 23mm
You can use a 35 for all round photography, as a struggle you can take a portrait, you can use it for landscape and street photography.
A 23 has only one use. Wide angle landscape.
    You’d be bonkers.

The 70 – 75% rule means that basically it is clear glass.
If you try and put tinting on the front side windows or even the screen, the war will certainly fail its MOT.
The Police and VoSA have the power to issue an Immediate Rectification notice. Which basically means you are not able to drive the vehicle on a road until the tinting is removed.
Some drivers try it on, and do ride around with tinted fronts, but eventually, all have to remove it.

    yosemitepaul

You do know, that you can only put tinting in the rear side and back windows. Anything further forward than the rear door pillar is not permitted.
You tend to find that on most modern cars there is a degree of tinting in the front windows which is permitted.

Ridden bikes for decades. All round the U.K. and Europe. Trained by the job to advanced level and beyond. Retired now.
Have seen loads of collisions loads of injuries; and unfortunately quite a few riders who just didn’t make it.
However I always enjoyed my own bike and riding.
Then, earlier this year, took my BM out for a run and I just didn’t enjoy it. For the first time I felt I wasn’t as good as I once was and felt a spark had gone out of my riding.
That sowed the seed in my own mind. I thought back to some of those who I’d seen who had come off and the subsequent problems it had caused either them or their families.
Within a couple of months a very nice shiny big BM and all its gear had gone. I’m finished with it.
Do I now regret it? No I don’t think so, I felt vulnerable, I knew my best days were over. I spent the money on a new road bike and camera, and enjoy my days just as much and perhaps with a little bit more of a chance of coming home intact.

I’m not aware of any ‘policy’ decision regarding change of siren. However there are several different manufacturers of light bars and sirens. They all essentially sound the same but are each in their own way a bit different.
It may be that particularly if you are used to sirens in your local area that were perhaps manufactured by company like Premier Hazard and now it could be that Federal are subsequently fitted. You may then notice a difference in the sounds produced.
In response to the older sirens being louder than the modern ones. Yes they were. But they caused problems for those sat only two feet away from them! Modern sirens are designed to be reflected off solid structures to give a perception of louder noise. In the open countryside or motorways they have less things to bounce off, so the sound is reduced. Regularly, one of the emergency services doesn’t often use their sirens on motorways, because drivers don’t hear them till emergency service is only a few meters behind. In panic the driver brakes hard, resulting in the emergency service driver having to try and proceed down the motorway accelerating and then having to brake hard!

Take the car option. It equals £14. each. Takes the hassle out of the train / metro and will take you from door to door.
I used to use the metro, then was offered a car. I’d never go back.

Altberg, I spent a good part of a career in those boots, they were brilliant. The fit was like slippers and until each pair were knackered retained water resistance.
Even sent a pair away for new soles. They came back like new.
Now have a pair of walking boots (Mallerstangs). They are as good as the pro boots. I wouldn’t hesitate but recommend them.
They’re British too. Hand made in Richmond.

Zion and Bryce Canyon are close by

Well they are if a 300 mile 5 hour drive with loads to see between are ‘close’.

I walked / ran from the South Rim to the bottom and back in a day. Its not easy, it gets hotter as you descend, and remember once you get down, you have a huge climb with no available water to get back out again.

So, contrary to all the notices it is achievable, but I would only do it if you are feeling fairly fit, have loads of food and water and are competent walking the steep trails.

    Moab is ‘awesome’!!!!

Of course you can do it.
Get the training in and in seven months you won’t have a problem.
Who cares what time it’s done in as long as you start………….and finish.
I’ve done Paris a few times and its fantastic. Not at all like London which now appears to be a Charitable Marketing Exercise (not that there’s anything wrong with that. Collecting so much money is laudable). However Paris is full of actual runners, who are there to actually run a marathon.

OP I don’t know where in the world you are, but Rebound Clinic in Settle N Yorks (or Fishers Keswick) were absolutely brilliant for me.

A few years ago I had to give up running because of achilles and calf injuries.

I saw Robert Stanley at Rebound, it cost a couple of hundred to get custom orthotics; but they’ve transformed my running.

I can now easily do a half marathon and the occasional full marathon, where before i could walk.

Worth spending the money for expert advice.

The HA have no power to stop vehicles in such circumstances.

They can only stop on the grounds of safety.

If HA traffic officers in uniform want to stop your vehicle on safety grounds (e.g. an insecure load)

They have no powers to conduct stop checks (fortunately).

I can’t see why you’d not want to answer, they’re only attempting to increase data and information on the use of a particular road. Who knows, as a consequence you may get road ‘improvements’.
The HA have no power to stop vehicles in such circumstances. (nor do VoSA in these circumstances).
Only Police officers in uniform (the hat is not mandatory) under S163 of the RTA ’88 have this authority. If a Police Officer requests that you stop then you must obey (as per Highway Code).
As far as I am aware you can decline to answer questions put to you by the HA but not re ownership and driver details by the Police.

Have it here too. Particularly in the right ear. Went to the doc, and explained I’ve had a life of shooting firearms of all types. He shrugged his shoulders and basically said ‘what do you expect’!
So, I’ve never been able to get rid of it, and try and concentrate on something else, music or other ‘noise’. If you think about it, especially when in bed and all else is quiet then its worse.
I’m sorry you’ve got it, it’s not nice but just try and displace your thoughts on anything rather than the noise. I think eventually you can re-educate the brain to focus on other types of sound.
